Kim (kimgm) | 1032 comments Congrats, Ines! That is awesome news! :)

I lost my editor, found a new editor, waiting for her to get back to me now with the first found of edits on Maybe Forever. :)

At breakfast, I suddenly got an idea for a short story involving an AI. Going to work out some details while having coffee.

Need to work on my YA novella on wattpad. Also need to decide which novel idea will be the next I work on. :)

Nonnie | 33 comments 898 words today, almost finished one of my wattpad stories, well writing it not posting it.

Congrats Ines even though I'm super late.

Ines Johnson Started my writing week off good! Got 840 for the first scene of Spirited Away Part Four.

Cleaned up a chapter of my next release, which is due to the Editor next week.

Pumpkin's still doing phenomenally.

I'm gonna spend the rest of the day with my old friend, Kindle! Two new Charlotte Stein books popped up on Amazon for $0.99. The first one, Intrusion, was disturbingly steamy. The second one, Forbidden, is slow, but the object of desire is a Priest, so....

Yay, Ines! :D I am trying to stay on track after a great weekend of writing. Yesterday ended up being a bust--I'm helping with title cards for a work-related documentary and being in the video suite all day wore me out. Came home, fell asleep on the couch with computer on my lap. Words written? 20. :P

Hoping tonight will be better. I am meeting my writing buddy after work and we're going to brainstorm plots for her new project + discuss something of mine that she beta read.

message 155: by Ines (new)

Ines Johnson You do docs, Kim? I used to work for National Geographic Television. Now I teach screenwriting. Today in class, I heard the best idea for a story -well a movie! Zombies...in gladiator Rome! I wish I wrote thrillers.

message 156: by Kim (new)

Kim (kimgm) | 1032 comments Ines, the company I work for makes cosmetics and they often produce documentaries about their top-selling products. This is the first time I've worked on a doc for them. The videos I've worked on before have been commercials.

Heheh! Zombies in ancient Rome? Well...could be fun. I used to love zombie stories but I feel like I've been inundated with them lately.

Ines Johnson Got 688 words today in Spirited Away.
Edited a chapter of Pleasure Hound Book 2.

Trucking along. Is anybody doing Camp Nano? There's still some room in the cabin I'm sharing with Moderator Michelle.

message 158: by Kim (new)

Kim (kimgm) | 1032 comments I was planning on doing camp nano, but now I was assigned a major project at work and that is going to eat up my entire April. :(

message 159: by Ines (new)

Ines Johnson @Kim -Aw bummer! I was looking forward to talking about cute boys on hikes and sharing ghost stories around the fire with you.

message 160: by Kim (new)

Kim (kimgm) | 1032 comments Hahah! Now that would have been fun!

message 161: by Ines (new)

Ines Johnson Hey Guys. Been editing all last week. Sent the WIP off to the editor yesterday. Prepping for Camp NANO where I'll be drafting the next Cindermama story called Rumpeled. Pumpkin is still doing extremely well!

I can't wait for Camp Nanowrimo!

Ugh! Good idea. I'm still learning the ins and outs. I'll open the cabin tonight when I get home.

Kim (kimgm) | 1032 comments This morning I was late for work because I got so caught up in trying to finish a scene for Maybe Tomorrow. That hasn't happened in a while. In fact, I woke up way too early this morning--at 4:45AM-- and couldn't fall asleep again, so I ended up writing. I wrote from 5AM until 7:40AM. I ended up with some really good material. :)

message 166: by Ines (new)

Ines Johnson What a lovely day Kim!
Michelle, it looks like some lively people are in our NANO cabin!

I'm headed out for a short family vacation. Its in Colonial Williamsburg where cell towers are limited which means internet will be limited. So no laptop. Only pen and paper. I'll see you guys in April!

message 167: by Ines (new)

Ines Johnson I'm baaack! Came home and immediately grabbed the laptop! I got 1353 words for Rumpeled. It took five hours! Some exciting things happened in the scene that I didn't expect, but I couldn't figure out how to get to the end. So I just stopped writing.

The cool thing about this book is that my main character, Guy Rumpel, works in the music industry. My dad's a musician and composer. So I get to call him up every few minutes to ask him questions about how to make a not-so-good artist sound good and other aspects of the music industry. I can feel him puffing his chest out over the phone that he gets another opportunity to teach his grown, overly-degreed daughter something she doesn't know!

Kim (kimgm) | 1032 comments Awesome! I am in editing mode! :) Editing away...:)

message 170: by Ines (new)

Ines Johnson I was a little too social today and only got 305 words. There's always tomorrow.

Happy editing, Kim!!

message 171: by Ines (new)

Ines Johnson Got 700 words today. Sometimes the start of a new manuscript takes a minute...

message 172: by Ines (new)

Ines Johnson Feeling uninspired:-(...
How're you guys?

message 173: by Kim (new)

Kim (kimgm) | 1032 comments Not much happened writing-wise. I was beta-reading for another writer, made some promo images for Maybe Forever, tried to get the edits done but there is still more to do.

message 174: by Ines (new)

Ines Johnson I feel you Kim. I can't seem to turn the right-side of my brain, the creative side, on. I'm running a $0.99 promo for Pumpkin next week and I've been getting that in order. But I'm supposed to be drafting the next Cindermama book. Hopefully, I can jump start my Muse over the weekend.

message 175: by Echo (new)

Echo (mrsbookmark) | 307 comments I haven't checked in much, because there's not much new to say. Almost finished with edits on the M/M so I can send it for more beta/crits.

Anxious to get back to my SF Romance. Now that I've had time away and done something else, I can look at it more critically and do a second draft.

It's insane how sometimes the muse runs away from you. So for now I am planning the release of Maybe Forever, which should be 15 May if all goes well. Still trying to finish Maybe Tomorrow.

Sometimes you need to do that--step away from it, let it germinate and then come back to it. I've had to do that a couple of times with Maybe Tomorrow. I feel like I'm in the home stretch with it.

message 181: by Ines (new)

Ines Johnson I'm on track with my next two works.

I'm running ads for Pumpkin this week -Genre Pulse, Ebooklister, Awesome Gang, ENT, Ebook Soda, and Booksends- and Pumpkin is doing REALLY well! I'm seeing amazing results with ENT. I'm about to tip 500 units sold!

That's awesome, Ines! :D I am going to try something similar for Maybe Forever once it launches.

I just published the cover reveal for it. I'm going to make preorder links available by the end of the eek.

She most definitely is. I know I haven't been participating much in the discussions outside of this one due to the negativity. It was making me wonder if I even still wanted to be in the group.

Kim (kimgm) | 1032 comments I had this great plan to get a lot of writing done yesterday and today. I spent most of yesterday on the phone with UPS, trying to get them to deliver a package. After being polite for hours, I had to resort to yelling at them to get them to do what they should have done in the first place. No writing accomplished. Then today, I should have had a calm day at work, which usually means lots of writing. No such luck. I ended up having to sit in a 2-hour brainstorming meeting, a 3-hour information meeting and a 1-hour brainstorming. I am braindead now.

Meetings? Ouch. I actually wrote about 1500 yesterday and made some progress. School has just started so it's been busy with various things. School year starts in April in Japan and parents are required to do a lot of stuff. Just getting the uniform and supplies together was something else. Honestly, I am grateful to have this thread because it motivates me to keep going. It am determined to get projects finished this year.

Kim (kimgm) | 1032 comments I'm in Oxford, England this weekend, brainstorming with some fantastic writers. I ended up with many good ideas for directions to take my robot story in. :)

message 189: by Ines (new)

Ines Johnson That's fantastic, Kim. Sounds like you got good vibes and good views!

I'm back on the grind. Each day, I'm drafting a new scene for my WIP (Rumpeled: a Cindermama Story) and polishing up a chapter for my next release in the Pleasure Hound series.

Hope you had a good time in England, Kim. I went several years ago (London, Bath, Stonehenge,) and loved it. It's my dream to go again.

Echo (mrsbookmark) | 307 comments I got some words down, lots more on paper. Edits keep making it longer and longer. Consulted my RWA writing groups for a title... THE BROKEN KING. I need a bit of technical research so I hope to go to a real, actual library this weekend.

Other than that, Hobbit:battle of the five armies came out so I HAD to stop and watch it.

Echo (mrsbookmark) | 307 comments Hi! I hope you're all still out there.
I did about 10,000 words the last three days. Got a lot of time to type, so I took advantage. The 22K novella is now at 35K so it's running longer than I thought. Oh, well.
I did some pinterest to plot.

Now,I need a movie break.

message 200: by Ines (new)

Ines Johnson Yeah Echo!!!

I'm still here. My WIP is kicking my butt. Its hard for me to write contemporary romance, but it (meaning Pumpkin: a Cindermama Story) is my best seller. So I have to get the sequel out before the end of the year to keep up that momentum.
