Yes. Me too. I think this is the most books I've ever read for one of our seasonal reading challenges and I've been participating since the beginning. Many of the books I read could be described as "unsettling", combine that with the easy to find letters L-O-O in a title/subtitle and that's how I read over 25 books for the Fall Reading Challenge!

Janet wrote: "Just finished THE LOTTERY..and I found it to be an amazing collection of disquieting short stories. Besides the iconic "The Lottery", I absolutely loved "Pillar of Salt" and "Flower Garden" and "Me..."

Pillar of Salt was one of my favorites too :-)
I also noticed the use of same names in different stories. I would think to myself, wait a minute wasn't that the name of the character in the other story? Fun times. I could have done without Elizabeth though.

Rachel | 3524 comments Thanks for all of the updates, everyone!

Books and the seasonal challenges really provide a much needed escape for me especially during these stressful times. I really appreciate the positive feedback on the challenges and as always I’m glad you’re all still doing them with me. :)

Janet-for some reason the challenge sign up page no longer shows me your information-I can’t even see your name-I’m assuming it’s another famous gr glitch. Fortunately I can see everyone’s comments in this thread.

So I know it’s a few days early but just want to thank everyone who participated in the challenge and Congratulations to everyone who completed it (or will complete it by the end of the month).

Rachel | 3524 comments Also I have a few ideas for the winter group read but would love some feedback.

Anyway I was thinking about offering a choice again although the two I’m thinking of are 2020 releases so not sure if they will be more difficult to get.

The Midnight Library The Midnight Library by Matt Haig

The Night Swim The Night Swim by Megan Goldin

I'm sure I'll be able to get both of these titles before the seasonal challenge ends. My library has both titles in print and audio formats. I'll just get on the waitlist as soon as I free up a hold space. My library allows 10 holds and I always add more holds the same day I pick up. I've been at the library twice this weekend.

Looking forward to the winter challenge

Christine | 798 comments I finished Magic Lessons, last book for my challenge. I usually love Alice Hoffman but this time, meh.

Thanks again for a great challenge! Looking forward to the next.

I vote for The Midnight Library for our winter read!

I was considering reading Practical Magic. Which Alice Hoffman titles would you recommend most highly?

Thanks for the recommendations. I've put these on my list to request from the library :-)
