SOLVED. YA Dystopian Graphic Novel a girl joining a crew who fix old abandoned sites. Spoilers ahead. [s]

I don’t remember a lot (I finished writing it I remembered a lot more than I thought) and I read it around 2016/17? There were no male characters.
The main character was good friends (they might’ve started dating? I’m pretty sure they started dating) with this one girl while she was in boarding school who left/went missing out of nowhere. (She left after a fight? About a necklace i think? I think that’s why she didn’t say bye)
The main character also really wanted to race these... like space ships? Kinda like those things in the Star Wars prequels that Anakin wanted to race? Anyway she ended up joining the school team somehow and the other girl who went missing was on it too I’m pretty sure that’s how they met or at least became better friends.
Oh and all the school stuff was like told in flashbacks sorta? From while the main girl was on a ship with like a whole crew and they went to like abandoned places and fixed them? I think she got expelled or something and was forced to join em?
One scene I remember is like when the crew’s leader gets suspended and they’re issued a new one who keeps calling one of the people “she” but they were nonbinary everyone got really upset at her she got yelled at it was lovely she deserved it. Also the enby character was mute! They were really young I think? They got along well with main girl. They were also good friends with leader’s gf? I think? There were at least four member in the crew excluding main girl I think.
Anyway main girl tells the crew about the girl who went missing eventually and they try to find her? They do find her. She lived on this planet? That was utterly destroyed very dangerous? I think? And there was this one house that all her family lived in? I wanna say it was under the surface but i think under the surface was this tribe thing? Everyone got split up and the enby character got kidnapped by them or something? They were related to one of the tribe members I think? Or maybe that was the main girl? One of those two.
That’s all I remember? I’m pretty sure? This is kinda a mess but I hope someone knows this book.
