Task 30.1 Ancient Greek Theatre
To celebrate the teachers who helped us learn and grow, and in honor of Ava Catherine's high school drama and debate teacher Ruth Liveakos, who taught ancient Greek drama, among other talents, read two books from two options or two from one option. State the tasks you chose when you post.
I chose Option 5 with two books because I love tasks that have a particular year for choosing the books to read.
Day of Birth: May 3, 1915
I read The Song Of The Lark by Willa Cather which was first published in 1915
The Song of the Lark
I chose this particular edition because it was first published in 1915 and is the reprint of the 1915 novel. Also the cover is from an 1884 painting of the same title that Ms Cather saw in the Art Institute of Chicago and was the inspiration for her novel . My first Cather and it is WONDERFUL. This is also my own personal copy of the book. Also pa fitting story as Thea struggled to become a trained singer and pianist. Five Stars
Date of Death: February 4, 2008.
I read The Secret Adventures of Charlotte Bronte, first published in 2008.
The Secret Adventures of Charlotte Brontë
I liked the book because it reminded me of the books I read as a tween and teen where well known female characters went on adventures and found mystery and romance along the way. I liked Charlotte until about page 270 when she started having sympathy for the guy she was supposed to be spying on, and I didn't believe in her much after that. A sad note: Ruth Liveakos died on my birthday.

I wish I could have done more this season. i love fall reading but this year I think the struggles of the last eight months finally hit me and I didn't feel like doing much, even reading. I was lucky to finish the three books I did. I am wiping my slate and ready to try again in the Winter Challenge.
