It's for teens and young adults. The children are around 10 to 15. The book did not specify how old the children were. But from my reading of it before, they were not too young or old.

The Sun is going to go supernova way before it should because of deserted humans. The sun is expanding quickly and has already swallowed the Earth and is poised to swallow Mars. The United Nations build "StarShips" to try to escape to another solar system. A group of friends and their handy Robot have to escape from Mars. They also have to help their parents who got stuck during a mining operation. Because of this they are left behind by the StarShip crew. The StarShips get attacked while they are refueling at Saturn Station.
Read it between 2018-2019.
