Review:
Still a 5 star read for me after several re-reads. I love the banter between Sophie and Phin. I love how Phin is laid back and assertive at the same time. I love how Sophie comes to term with her own needs beyond taking care of her family/Amy. I also love how despite her fears, she doesn't let people push her around. Such a fun book!

Shards of Frost by Suzanne Wright
Date Completed: 11/14/2020
Rating: 4⭐️
I know I’m totally reading the books in the Mercury Pack and Phoenix Pack series completely out of order, but it does not at all hinder my enjoyment of whatever book I’m reading as there is a nice continuity between the two series and the characters who interact with one another. This particular book is the last one in the Mercury Pack series (although I greatly wish there was a book on Cain and Cassidy’s relationship) and one of my favorite scenes was the penultimate fight at the end with all the packs and their allies, united against a common enemy. The introduction of the mink clan to the series was great, I loved their quirks and seeing the other shifters react to them, especially in that final fight scene where we got the see the mink clan shine. I enjoyed the underlying humor in this book, and especially enjoyed that the over-the-top b**** attitude we usually see from the clan matriarchs in these two series was missing in this book. And lastly, it was nice to see the instant “true-mate” connection snap into place for Casey and Eli at the very beginning and their relationship develop without too much angst, and their unswerving support of one another in whatever issues or challenges they faced. 4 stars.

Review: I thought this would be all legal drama but it’s actually a really heartwarming Son-in-Law meets My Best Friend’s Wedding. Stanton leaves his high school sweetheart and their baby to go get a fancy Ivy League education and great job as an attorney in DC. When he gets news that Jenny is getting married he rushes home to try and stop it - only to realize his best friend with benefits might be the one who has his heart. It was cute, sweet, and fun.

Yep! If we want to try and win, we'll need to read fast. I'm good either way, I just enjoy the challenge. But I like winning too ;-)
