That’s awesome! Super excited to have a full team ☺️ And thanks for checking the word count for me, I hadn’t had a chance to get on the website yet but I was pretty sure it was under the 40K.

I had already linked it on page 1, but here it is! the website is called arbookfind and comes in super handy for these challenges, although not all books are on there of course.
another way of making sure a book is long enough for frozen meals is checking the audiobook. if it's longer than 5 hours it works for frozen and fresh meals, if it's shorter than that we can only use it for fresh meals.

I had tumeric last time so I’m hoping I come across it again but I though there is no way for bamboo and then it just shows up during this audio!

message 307: by Christina (new)

Christina (chrissy__) | 3010 comments Oh wow I'm surprised too! Both bamboo and turmeric are hard words to find!

I had mushrooms in HP7 earlier today :)

Christina (chrissy__) | 3010 comments ^ I'm pretty sure wordcounters only estimates word count, therefore we won't be able to use it unfortunately

I've also been struggling with a cold the past few days, but it's not too bad anymore. Hope you're feeling better, Amanda!

Daniela Zekotic | 229 comments Hey, I'm the friend Christina told you about! I'm so sorry I'm only checking in just now, but this week is just crazy. I'll have more time by Tuesday again, just have lots of due dates at Uni until Monday.

I still don't get the challenge a 100%, I hope that'll change soon haha

kirsty gray (kirstygray) | 174 comments Welcome Daniela!! Im sure you will get the hang of it, i was pretty confused at the start too!! Any questions just ask xx

Daniela Zekotic | 229 comments kirsty gray wrote: "Welcome Daniela!! Im sure you will get the hang of it, i was pretty confused at the start too!! Any questions just ask xx"

I just don't get what exactly we have to do. We have to put together our own meals? But like one book is one meal? just so confused xD

message 324: by kirsty gray (new)

kirsty gray (kirstygray) | 174 comments For now just keep a note of the book and any characters that are in it, then as you read every time you read any food item keep a note of it and the page number, then once youve finished the book you input it all into the tracking spreadsheet we have and then we make up the meals from there x

message 325: by kirsty gray (new)

kirsty gray (kirstygray) | 174 comments So dont worry about the meals just now as you can use multiple books to make a meal x

Daniela Zekotic | 229 comments Ok, so I have to read a book for uni, I'll be done with it today. It's a theater play with 116 pages. No food items so far, but I can use it for spell-outs if I understood correctly?

message 331: by Daniela (new)

Daniela Zekotic | 229 comments Oh and I saw Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury is a BOTM. I have it basically laying on my nightstand, waiting for me to finally start reading it. So that'll be my next book

message 336: by Daniela (new)

Daniela Zekotic | 229 comments I finished my play and should hopefully be done with Fahrenheit 451 by the end of the weekend. The book is quite short after all

message 337: by Daniela (new)

Daniela Zekotic | 229 comments oh and other question, I might've missed it. do I need a shelf for this challenge?

message 338: by Christina (new)

Christina (chrissy__) | 3010 comments No shelf required ;)

message 339: by Christina (new)

Christina (chrissy__) | 3010 comments Kirsty, I just saw you read Coraline! did you like it? I'm thinking I might read it next as it's quite short or listen to the audiobook!

That is one of my favorite books! I read it in 4th grade and have been in love since :)

message 342: by Christina (new)

Christina (chrissy__) | 3010 comments I used Daniela's play that had no ingredients in it, Miranda's One Tiny Lie which had hardly any ingredients and my current read Anne of Green Gables (the graphic novel) for 3 spell-it-outs. it wasn't easy, but I think I made it work in the end.
I also worked on meal descriptions, but could use help with the drink ones especially lol. got absolutely no inspiration there haha!

Thats fantastic!!! X

message 344: by Daniela (new)

Daniela Zekotic | 229 comments do the names have to have the ingredients in the name or should we just be creative?

message 345: by kirsty gray (new)

kirsty gray (kirstygray) | 174 comments Nope just be creative qitht he names, i think the more creative the names and descriptions are the better as its a criteria for the reviewer isnt it??

message 346: by Daniela (new)

Daniela Zekotic | 229 comments is there a tab in the spreadsheet to see which meals/drinks we are having trouble with naming? I'm up to helping with finding names, but I need to know what the meal/drink consists of xD makes it easier

message 347: by kirsty gray (new)

kirsty gray (kirstygray) | 174 comments If you go onto the 1st page of this thread and go into team spreadsheet, one tab will have kitchen meals created round 2 where you can see the meals and whats in them and then if you go onto shopfront for round 2 thats where you need to put a name to each meal with a brief description xx

message 348: by Daniela (new)

Daniela Zekotic | 229 comments I see, so f.e we want a description for chardonnay - it could go along like: juice that makes the moms party?
