My plan is to try to stick to finding words in books rather than a spell it out but we'll see how that goes. Saving my 550 pager to start once this challenge starts.

Best part was seeing what you got!
I'm tempted to ask my husband to go get books and put them in a mystery bag for me...might end up with woodworking books though ;)But a thrift shop has a more limited selection of woodworking that I might actually get something I like :D
I tried to buy a bag of mystery romance books from a used bookstore in Texas. They sent it twice and USPS lost it both times. I'm still very sad about it because it was such a fun idea.
I'm assuming we will all add our own books to the SS? It seems like it will take forever to fill out all that information after each book!
Probably should also coordinate spell it outs if possible. I'm going to try to do scavenger as much as possible
Someone probably needs to take point on what we have, what we need, checking the spreadsheet... I hate to say that knowing it can't be me :(

Just went to check out some foodie books and for some reason they are all only audio! Why is it so hard to find an ebook lately...
Hey Louise - I've finished my first book - is it safe to clear out the testing entries in the SS and start adding books? Or do you want us to post completions and let you add?

So, it might be that we have books with more food words as we get further into this round, should we just list all our books and then sort out if we will use them later?Since we can make more meals with books that have lots of items?
Just checking because the book I just finished has handfuls of food, but not too many...
That's what I was thinking too, Snowtulip. Since we have a maximum of 80 books for this round, we will probably have to select ones that work best.
We’ll definitely have to select the best books. Is anyone planning on reading the BOM, just downloaded the audiobook.
I'd like to read Chain of Gold but can't get from my library yet. I put a hold on it but doubt that I'll get it in time.
I added my first book to the spreadsheet. I didn't put page numbers for scavenger words so let me know if I need to.

Umm, I didnt see anything posted...is it just a free for all?Sorry I have had double shifts this week, I actually just work one today, so I will need to reread what is all going on. I was thinking there were certain tasks we needed to complete
I think we are just putting what we read and then Louise (with my help if needed) will start putting meals together based on what we read. Right now, we're just listing the books we read and what they work for.
I put three books in, however I have a handful more.but dang, that took me almost 20 min to do.Please let me know if you all have found and easier way to do this!
Louise, do we want to start attempting to put a few meals together so we aren't scrambling at the last minute? I know we have another couple weeks but it might help us see what we're missing early?

I am going to try to work on some over 500 page books the next week or so.
I think I'm going to start focusing on my vinegar books...
Oh dear. So ummm. We are supposed to capture page numbers or quotes or something and I have not done that for my books so I'll be going back through them and trying to find page numbers today. If I can't find them, I'll remove books I read.you'll need something in the justification column. a page / loc / audio chapter is good, but if you've been capturing full quotes, that will work too. We do expect something different to a repetition of the word though!

I'm slowly adding my books. This is a terribly time-consuming process!I was able to get Circe from the library so I can do this BOM.
