The fact I had to watch a video to understand the spreadsheet scared me ;)

Although my hubby thinks I LOVE spreadsheets...

You may have to translate Louise...I may need help! Although the first week of any of these challenges is a little tough and then it all becomes clear :D

Heheheheh :-)

message 18: by Stacie (new)

Stacie (cowmingo) | 4770 comments I need to watch that spreadsheet video. Do we need a restaurant name and I guess in the next week or so should start figuring out strategy if there is one maybe. Early morning pre-coffee thoughts by Stacie...

message 19: by LaurLa (new)

LaurLa | 1938 comments Oh boy... this one does scare me. Please don't put me in charge!!

message 20: by Stacie (new)

Stacie (cowmingo) | 4770 comments Me either lol.

message 21: by Jackie (new)

Jackie | 1951 comments I know what you mean. I read the rules and watched the video but still looks like a lot to keep up with.

message 22: by Snowtulip (new)

Snowtulip | 4479 comments Looks like we’ll have to do some planning and maybe adding another tab to the spreadsheet to capture planning combinations?

message 23: by Abbie (new)

Abbie Umm...yeah I am lost at this point in time.

Let me know when we start palnning!

message 24: by Stacie (new)

Stacie (cowmingo) | 4770 comments So yeah, we're going to need a restaurant name and a brief description. We'll also need meal descriptions once we complete them. This is just what I get from looking at the spreadsheet, I haven't watched the video yet.

We should maybe add a tab to the SS for planning purposes.

message 25: by Louise (new)

Louise | 2487 comments I’m going to spend some time on this later today. I think I get it. Just need to make sure. From what I can work out how many times we use our book is dependent on its length and how we use it is dependent on the length of the word.

message 26: by Louise (new)

Louise | 2487 comments Has everyone got access to the spreadsheet?

message 27: by Snowtulip (new)

Snowtulip | 4479 comments So glad you are feeling like it's making sense Louise! I can access the spreadsheet. I've seen some other teams practicing using the SS..I may do that...

message 28: by Jackie (new)

Jackie | 1951 comments I have access.

message 29: by LaurLa (new)

LaurLa | 1938 comments I have access ... for all the good it does ;-)

message 30: by Louise (last edited Sep 05, 2020 08:53PM) (new)

Louise | 2487 comments I’ve added some test books to the spreadsheet and had a play. I’ve added an extra column to the books read sheet to track spell-it outs.
It seems our highest points come from Sandwiches and Fish and Chips.
Although we need to make sure to have some frozen foods and desserts for the teens.

For Spell-it outs we’re limited by the maximum number of items so if we wanted a peanut butter sandwich we would need to scavenge it whereas we can Spell a vegemite sandwich.

The front sheet auto tracks options used and options available which is good.
I did watch 30secs of the video but I don’t think it’s needed.

Abbie Description idea:

YOU PROBABLY WON'T READ THIS
Food For Thought's fresh-from-the-stacks menu and funky, mid-century Historical Fiction details have earned it a Horror cult following. Not just a restaurant, Food For Thought is a neighborhood nexus and sensory Book overload ... served with a spoonful of Romance. Think: Mystrey/Thrillers, bright-AF Fictional cocktails, Non-Fiction architecture, and offbeat Fantasy finds. Word! Eclectic is an understatement. But so is this: It’s sure to whet your literary appetite.

message 34: by Stacie (new)

Stacie (cowmingo) | 4770 comments I love this Abbie!

message 35: by Abbie (new)

Abbie Is Lettuce Read the Resturante name, or do we still need to come up with that? I wasnt sure which was why i just but Name? On it

message 36: by Jackie (new)

Jackie | 1951 comments Great description, Abbie!

message 37: by Stacie (new)

Stacie (cowmingo) | 4770 comments It can be, I don't think we officially decided that. My thought was Food For Thought as a restaurant name.

message 38: by Louise (new)

Louise | 2487 comments Love the description Abbie. Food for Thought is good for a Restaurant name. :)

message 39: by Jackie (new)

Not a problem

Snowtulip | 4479 comments So we get more points for fish and chips with vinegar...I have about 10 books with vinegar :D

Also, we can swap customers if we do the BOM!

Best hunt them out 😊

message 50: by Snowtulip (new)

Snowtulip | 4479 comments Start is getting closer :). How is everyone feeling? Do we need to plan or just read?

Seems we should have a variety of meals since we have no idea who our customers are? But still read for max points? Not sure what the perfect combo is...
