The main character is a teenage girl who is the princess of a Nordic society In a fantasy setting, can't remember but she may become queen. Sets out on quest and teams up with wizard her age. In second book they are married and have kids, they get in a war with southern country who is Roman Empire-like. One daughter turns evil and is a sorceress, joins grandpa and fights husband wizard. They make an alliance with the vampires to help them fight the empires invasion. In third book they go help the empire fight this unstoppable army, the emperor is just a little kid and they help him. Was reading this at least 5 years ago I think.

This sort of sounds like The Cry of the Icemark and it's sequels.
