Kate | 2 comments So, this was a picturebook i think I had as a child in the early to mid 90s, But not sure when published as my parents bought lots of garagesale books - I'd estimate maybe 1980-2000 at absolutely most. The illustration style fit many of my other childhood books (ie fully illustrated high quality pages of pencil or painted details), so I'd guess 80s for publishing I think?

In the book, in a sort of Hieronymus Bosch like illustration style, it tells the story of a being (Soul? Spirit?) that is assembling a body from a dead tree, bones from a graveyard, a spare eyeball, branches. I cannot remember if it had words or not - my feeling is possibly it was purely pictures but not sure. I feel like the end of the story was this being in full glory frankensteined together in some creepy underground forest. I remember distinctly the eyeball, a bone, some treebranches that were added to the being's body as legs.

My only other clue is that it could have been part of a puzzlebook? But not sure. It's been driving me nuts for years that I can't find this book, and my parents cannot remember it at all.
