Discussion Starts! Here are some topics:

Thoughts on the Katniss+Peeta romance?
Talk about anything that happened in the arena!
Other characters like Haymitch, Gale, Effie and Rue?
Did the film do it justice?

Amelie | 524 comments I read this book three years ago, and I personally didn’t enjoy it so I gave up on it after the first book. The story just didn’t click with me, and I got bored reading about a group of people fighting to the death, since it just seemed so pointless. The Katniss+Peeta romance seemed underdeveloped and forced as well. (view spoiler)This book just wasn’t for me, but maybe I should give it another go again since my reading tastes have changed since then.

Whoops I forgot, I just edited the last post. Sorry about that. 😅

unpopular opinion here, but in my opinion the hunger games series it's overrated :/ i love the movies i've watched them a few years ago before i read the books since i've read this series for the first time this year. i really liked the first book, but the second and third book not so much . i actually prefer the movies over the books. i found the catching fire book so disapppointing, especially since i love the movie, i consider it one of my favorites.

I sort of agree with Lucy. I loved the Hunger Games but liked Catching Fire less and found Mockingjay a bit boring. I'm not sure I liked the Peeta/Katniss romance, cause they just seemed a bit plain (that's not saying I ship Katniss with Gale I just wanted Peeta to be more interesting)

i loved the peeta/katniss romance, but in the movies. in the books i felt liked it was missing something...

and i never shipped katnis with gale. i never liked gale, he was always pissing me off, no matter what he was doing

☀︎El In Oz☀︎ (elinoz) I loved this book! The peers and Katniss romance was spot on, the entire Games was very chilling. Idk if I’ll do a re read but I do love this book

At first I thought gale was great but then he just seemed rather selfish with Katniss, and then just closed off.
