Sean falls into the mine during his chase of the arsonist who we later learn is Ricky. Did Ricky lure him into this trap or was it purely an accident?

Ricky lured him to that mine shaft and fully expected him to fall in. It was no accident. The better question is: Did Ricky expect Sean to die or just be seriously injured? I think he Ricky wanted him injured so he would pack up and go away.

I totally believed he lured him into that trap but didn’t expect him to be seriously injured or killed. He just wanted to lose him. Ricky wasn’t wired to hurt, just survive.

I believe Ricky thought he could lure Sean into the mines and eventually lose him in there. He wasn't thinking about the fact that Sean could be seriously injured or killed falling into the mine shaft.

I think Ricky was just trying to lose him and he would be injured and go away.

Ricky did it on purpose, although I don't feel like he was really thinking when he did do it. He knew Sean would fall, but I don't think he was thinking about the injuries it could cause.
