Week 1 Completion PostBook: Sleeping Giants By Sylvain Neuvel
Pages: 320
How it Fits: Science Fiction
Read: 9/6/20
Rating: 2 stars
This book was a difficult for me to finish. I found that the interview part had nothing to the main story of the giant metal robot. For example who slept with who and why.
I am so sorry but I've had a family emergency pop up. I think I need to opt-out of this challenge since I'm not certain how soon I'm going to get back to it.

Week 1 Completion PostTask: Science Fiction
Oryx and Crake by Margaret Atwood
Read 9/9/2020
Rating: ★★★★
Review: This is one of those books where I ask myself why did it take so long to read it. I loved The Handmaid's Tale, and Atwood's alternate vision of the future is no less terrifying. A bio-engineered virus has killed off most of the human race. Snowman (formerly Jimmy) lives alone and watches over a group of genetically modified humans and fends off attacks from genetically modified animals. He recounts his life before the end of the world and his friendships with Oryx (a former child sex slave) and Crake (a genius/mad scientist). What's really scary is that the state of Snowman's world (when he was still Jimmy) is close to what we are experiencing today. This book was published 16 years ago and Atwood's vision is not all that far-fetched.

Book: NoX by Adrienne Wilder
Pages: 534
How it Fits: Title has 3 Letters
Read: 9/10//20
Rating: 5 stars
Review:
This book is one of my favorites. The story is great even if my heart breaks for Lucas each time I read the book. To find out that his brother was killed only for the purpose to give the mad scientist the highest fitting object to experiment on and to find out that his lover was the one who killed him a second time....
It really breaks my heart. I am still wondering if there will ever be a sequel. I do hope so.

Hi Samantha - I really need the week numbers on all selection and completion posts. Its part of the rules plus it can get confusing down the track if it isn't specified.
Please also add either 'selection' or 'completion' to each post.
Thanks :)

Book: Twisted Twenty-Six by Janet Evanovich
Read: 9/12/2020
Rating: ★★★
Review: The usual things happen in this book: Stephanie's car is blown up; Lula eats a lot of donuts; people get killed; Mrs. Plum drinks. At least this time Stephanie starts to question her life's choices and contemplates leaving the dangerous life of a bounty hunter. As always, there's not nearly enough of Ranger in this book. Will I read the next one? Sure!
Still not sure which book I want to read. Have downloaded a few excerpts to try to find the one I like most. Am scared it will be the one with over 500 pages. lol

Pretty good debut book by a new author. We get to meet the people we'll probably be reading about later and all of them see like interesting characters. There are a couple I'll be keeping my out of for. I'll definitely be reading more of the series. Definitely interesting enough to keep me reading and wanting more.

Review: Sparks flew from the moment that Maksim (Maks) & Valentine (Val) set their eyes on each other. Maks & Val both came from a not easy childhoods. I love when a story is told from dual POV's so you know what is going on in their minds. From the moment that Val is shot, Maks has not left his side. The more they get to know each other, the more they fall for each other. Though Val doesn't believe that he is good enough for Maks, Maks shows him in a lot of little ways that he is the one for him. This is a fast paced, keep you on the edge of your seat wild ride. I can't wait for Reese to find his HEA as well as Miguel. I loved Emma, Maks' 15 yr old neighbor who he was more of a father figure to then her own father.

This book was amazing! I don't think I put my kindle down (except to briefly sleep) since I started it. Harper's injustice kept me quietly seething throughout but Malachi's sweet and funny personality took the edge off. It was frustrating, heartbreaking, happy, sad, funny with a mystery that was as interesting and the smexing couple. Who knew? Just really, really great.
