SOLVED. Romance/YA second installment of a cowboy(i think) book where the guy tries to win back the girl after messing up in the past

I read this book around 2-3 years ago, I believe, online. Modern, can't remember the setting. It's the second installment of a series, I think?

The male lead in the second book was previously the rival in the first book and was being an overall douche, but got redeemed near the end. The girl, his love interest and friend when they were younger(??) is rich, at least compared to the male lead, and her parents doesn't approve of him because of their difference in wealth, and they also perceive him as a bad influence.

I vaguely remember the book starting in some kind of bar where the guy squares off against other people because he thought they were getting a bit touchy touchy with our gal. He's drunk and she decides to nurse him back to sobriety despite her better judgement.

I also remember a scene where she stays in his car/truck for the night, and she worries about what her parents might think. The dude has a crappy father. (view spoiler)[The father dies somewhere in the book and he has to manage his funeral (hide spoiler)]

For more context, the first book is about a girl that goes to a ranch and falls in love. She meets the male lead of the second book in a barn, I think, and he starts hitting on her, but her love interest comes to the rescue. Both guys know each other.

EDIT: For more context, the heroine of the second book was thought to be in a relationship with the male lead of the first book by the heroine of the first book, which was one of the main conflicts of the story. Heroine #1 first met Heroine #2 at a bull riding event. aHHH so sorry for the convoluted explanation ;-; Feel free to ask if ya'll need more clarifications.
