What books have you tried reading once and couldn't get into it, but then tried again and loved it?

For me, Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor was exactly like that. I tried it and couldn't get into it. But I tried it again awhile later after seeing reviews and it was like a switch went off and I could not put it down!!

That was a tough one for me to get into, too! For me, it was Artemis Fowl. I liked the first book just fine, but when I went back and listened to it on audio, I really got into the whole series!

Definitely A Game of Thrones by George R. R. Martin. The first time through I got SO LOST. There are fifty billion characters in the first book alone and I found it super hard to keep track of the names and places that I eventually gave up. After watching the first season of the show, the book was much easier to read because I could put faces to the many, many, many names!
