Read this probably between 2003-2006, the main characters went to a show featuring andaulsian horses dancing. The protagonist is orphaned, possibly in a Cinderella-type situation working for a cruel family. There's an elderly neighbor or relative who used to be a famous dancer, fell on hard times, sold her jewels to a jeweler who was in love with her and made her paste copies in return, but he actually just gave her the real ones back and money because he loved her. The elderly person dies and the children find this out.
