I can stretch my brain to get why they would be wary of prescription drugs (and that’s a big stretch) but herbal remedies? These people were demented. Pete dispensed policies that suited his needs. I’ll bet when he got ill he sneaked off and got treatment.
He also probably had his own stash of pills for his own use. I wonder where some of the items in Mercy's kit ended up. They weren't at the box that Beckett produced.
I think it was another form of control. I hold your life in my hands. You have to come to me for every little thing even headache medications. Robin I think Mercy's supplies were with Pete. He wanted to make sure he had supplies handy if he needed them.
I agree Sharon. It's about "control". Pete made sure these people couldn't so much as breathe without his permission or "grace". And fed their paranoia in every way. I think they were very gullible and saw him as their "savior".
