PattyMacDotComma I recently reviewed the Andy Warhol book from this series by Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara, and he always makes me think of Marilyn Monroe, whose rise from lonely little girl to fabulous movie star is captured here (sadly no Warhol pictures).

PattyMacDotComma The Incredible Winston Browne by Sean Dietrich is a warm, poignant heartstring-tugger about small town America in the 1950s. Readers will eat it up, I bet.

PattyMacDotComma What a fantastic cover and what an odd book. The 1800s were full of fortune-hunters, in all senses of the word, all over the world. Fortune by Aussie author Lenny Bartulin is wild historical fiction.

PattyMacDotComma Practice reading English with a good story! Canadian author Louise Penny wrote The Hangman for a Canadian literacy project. This short novella is #6.5 in the Chief Inspector Armand Gamache series, written in simpler language but still with our favourite characters in Three Pines. It's an excellent choice for adults learning to read and/or learning English. Great project!

Woman Reading (is away exploring) | 392 comments After a long hiatus, Ilona Andrews have returned to their Kinsnen series with this novella -
Fated Blades (Kinsmen, #3) by Ilona Andrews Fated Blades

I haven't read the preceding installments which were really just short stories. There's plenty of world-building here with a Sci-fi setting instead of their usual UF.

Julia (nojiri23) | 148 comments I'm listening to/reading Half Broke by Ginger Gaffney as I commute to and from work (for a November book group at my library), and it's amazing!

I'm also reading Before I Let Go by Marieke Nijkamp because I found it on a YA shelf at the library I am subbing at. Also trying to finish (difficult due to time!) UnSouled (Unwind Dystology, #3) by Neal Shusterman so that I can read UnDivided (Unwind, #4) by Neal Shusterman for a Goodreads November challenge (last of a series).

Also checking out a few graphic novels: The Shadow Hero Omnibus by Gene Luen Yang Displacement by Kiku Hughes Be Gay, Do Comics by Matt Bors

So, in other words, barely reading. [eye roll]
