(view spoiler)[ Books with pretty covers are going to be my downfall. I always expect so much, and then end up so disappointed. This wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t very good either. It’s just kinda there. I didn’t like the romance, and the plot didn’t do much for me either. Normally I love books about pirates because we get to know the crew, but we didn’t even get that here. And I’m not too big of a fan of the cliffhanger ending after the first 300 pages had virtually no action at all (hide spoiler)]

Haha yeah! I'll be starting in a couple of days, just need to finish up another buddy read, but I'm almost done with the book already. I've been looking forward to reading Fable a lot so I'm excited to finally start it!

(view spoiler)[I feel like the crew of The Marigold very interesting. I have a feeling that there is something sort of suspicous about them, especially because West asked Fable to trade for him. I think this was because he didn't want to be seen by someone else so I'm assuming he is in trouble. I'm also very curious to see what Fable's relationship with her father will be, because she seems oddly optimistic and happy about seeing him, even though he abandoned her on an island for 4 years, and tried to almost kill her. (view spoiler)[I know that Saint is trying to keep it a secret that Fable is his daughter, but I found it pretty crazy that when seeing her for the first time in 4 years, he just walked past her like he didn't even realize she was there. I have a feeling that when she does meet with her dad, things won't turn out well. I also have a feeling that we will probably see the crew later in the book because otherwise there wouldn't have been much detail about them, and we found out a lot about all of them. I honestly have no idea where this book is going right now, but I guess I'll (hopefully) find out soon. (hide spoiler)]

I would have never expected that her father had helped her on Jeval because there was basically nothing that hinted at that, so it was a complete surprise. I feel that the plot sounded good, but then once I read it, it was sort of boring, and I felt like nothing really happened in the first 300 pages. I'm still going to read the next book when it comes out, but it'll probably just let me down again. I did enjoy some parts of the book though and felt that the ending was when things actually picked up the pace, so maybe the next book will move on faster. (hide spoiler)]

I have this weird theory that Fable can do something with the storms or something, I’m not sure if there’s even magic in this book, but I feel like there is?? I don’t know, but they said something about her mother being an emerald singer or something, so I kinda thought that was a power too. She said something awoke in her during that storm, something slumbering, so I feel like she has a connection to the storm or something?? Maybe it’s complete bs lol, just a thought (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[ The whole thing with her scar was unexpected and quite cool! I did not expect her father to have left her the ship hihi. I did feel sad about the whole Saint thing, him not wanting her, but I'm glad she's back with the Marigold crew! I do think it's weird that he kinda does everything for her, but won't accept her as his daughter. Weird.

At least some of my theories came true hihi, like Willa and West being brother and sister. I'm really starting to like both Willa and West! I hope him and Fable do end up together, even though he's trying so hard to deny his feelings..

I don't think we've seen the end of Zola yet, he'll be big trouble I think, he might even follow them to the ship were they're going to find all the money etc. I don't remember the name of the ship lol. (hide spoiler)]
