This the August 2020 discussion thread for Felix Ever After by Kacen Callender!

I was really excited to read this novel, because I often don't see novels available that speak on the experiences of those in the transgender spectrum. And at the end, this book didn't disappoint me at all. The feelings of feeling uncomfortable in your own body, pain, fear, insecurity, etc. are all things that are so important for young adults to read about, as it is something that they often experience, and I feel as if Felix Ever After not only incorporated how these feelings are something that transgender teens experience as well, but how their experience as transgender people also may exacerbate these feelings. It has been a while since I really loved a Young Adult book, but this one really opened up an important discourse that I think everyone would hear.
