A few notes on this book:
* It came in at #12 on the final Great American Read list.
* It has a 3.97 average Goodreads rating.
* It was originally published in 1939.
* It won both the National Book Award and Pulitzer Prize.
* It was adapted into a film starring Henry Fonda and directed by John Ford, released in 1940.

This was the last story in what was called the "Dust Bowl Trilogy". The three books were:

In Dubious Battle written 1936
Of Mice and Men written 1937
The Grapes of Wrath 1939

It would be interesting to read all three in published order. At least two, if not all of these, were listed as "banned" at one point.
