Keeping things very simple this time around. For September, please nominate any mystery/crime/thriller book of your choice that this group hasn't read within the last five years. If you're not sure, here's the link to the group's bookshelf:

No self-promotion here, please.

Paul Perry (pezski) | 233 comments I'll nominate The Intruders by Michael Marshall

I first became aware of the author for his science fiction, however his first crime novel, The Straw Men, is one of the best murder mystery thrillers I've ever read and I want to read more of his work.

Aditya | 2017 comments Claire DeWitt and the City of the Dead by Sara Gran. Read it last week, this series really deserves a lot more attention.

Anything by Elmore is always a good idea.

Did the hurricane arrive? If it did, I hope you're all safe.

Well, I hope you're all safe regardless, but you know what I mean :)

We live about 1/3 of a mile from the ocean as the crow flies and the hurricane was supposed to brush the south FL coast. But we were up until 2 a.m. to check the latest NOAA forecast, and by then it had become a tropical storm, further out in the Atlantic than previously thought. Those we don't worry about.

But thank you! So sweet of you!
