Thought it would be fun to share what we've all been reading (the good and the bad!)

I'll kick things off with Shoot to Kill by Steve Cole. It was action packed, had all the tropes I expected from a Young Bond novel, but something was missing. ;-(

On to the next book!

Scott I've never read any Murakami. Is this a good place to start?

I thought After Dark was a good intro to him. Shorter, but similar...

I'll have a look at some Murakami then!

Finished my two Hear Read This books (soon to be discussed on the podcast) and moving on to Don't Point That Thing at Me by Kyril Bonfiglioli. Described as Fleming meets Wodehouse!

At the moment, I am trying to read The Secret History, but am dipping in and out of The Girl Who Tweeted Wolf.

Finished Don't Point That Thing At Me. A rather odd book...

Now moving onto some crime with The Secret Place by Tana French which I didn't realise was part of a series.

Katherine | 4 comments I came to comment on The Secret Place after hearing your latest podcast. I've read all of Tana French's books in order, but I really don't think of them as a series in the traditional sense. I think you are fine to read The Secret Place first. My favorite of hers is Broken Harbour, which I loved, followed by Faithful Place. She's one of my favorite mystery authors.

I just finished a mystery called The Unquiet Dead and really enjoyed it. It's billed as a history, but it also has strong historical fiction elements related to the Bosnian War. It's the author's first novel and I hope she writes more.

Next up is Wildalone. Seems to get mixed reviews - we'll see!

Hi Katherine,

That's a relief! Was a bit worried about reading them out of order. So far though it's great!
