I read this book around 2013-2014. It starts out with a man who sees this girl in the subway who he think he recognizes. But flashback to when they met, it begins with him moving into the dorms at school in New York where he meets her. He's into photography while she's into music and plays an instrument. I remember that his family didn't have enough money to visit him at school. He would use the pay phone to make phone calls. The boy and girl eventually start dating but something happens and they separate. Then cut to the present time, the man uses a Facebook page or forum that helps people find who they're looking for. He puts out a message describing the girl hoping its who he thinks it is. He eventually finds her and then they meet and it is revealed then that she has a kid. And that's all I remember.
