Does anybody else get annoyed that Lord of the Rings is left out of the Fandoms?

Eh? Whatever a fandom is(?) 'Lord of the Rings' was not the first to have one. Pop cults go back a long way.Anyway, I'm sure by now 'everyone' knows 'the beauty of these stories', thanks to the horrible movie versions.
... the Lord of the rings fandom is quite a strong one. Always has been. I wouldn't call it 'the origin of fandom' though because you can bet that lots of media things have (more or less) a cult following. What you're listing is a bunch of YA books that people have been recently obsessed with (recently being the span of the last 5-10 years).
LotR though serves as the source for many (sometimes really bad) fantasy books. Which is hilarious since Tolkien used Norse mythology as his source material and more modern authors (late 20 and current 21st century) should probably try that as well instead of copying from Lord of the Rings.
(Seriously, it's not so hard finding a translation of the Edda nowadays.)
Hannah, are you on Tumblr? there a bunch of blogs dedicated to the lotr fandom on there. I'm sure you'll find lots of people to follow and talk to about how great middle-earth is. Happy Hunting!
Just a few to give you a start:http://askmiddlearth.tumblr.com/
This is a fantastic blog with a well informed middle earth fan. She knows all sorts of stuff and answers all sorts of questions. She has read alongs too...I think she's doing the hobbit soon. Not to mention, she writes her own articles on middle earth. She's smart and fantastic!

I honestly don't know much about the woman who runs this blog, except she does a lot of cosplay and cosplays as a fantastic Queen of Mirkwood. I'm sure you can find other fandom stuff on here.

I'm a snob. I can't help it. When I hear people talk about their fanfiction about middle earth I roll my eyes. This young women made me change my mind about that. She writes short lotr fanfic that punches me right in the gut. She writes about other fandoms too but keep on eye on her!
Hope this helps a bit!
I think there are a lot of Lord of the Rings people on Tumblr, and it's so great to be around my own people and have people to talk to about it
Hannah wrote: "Haha well I guess I'm referring to my generation."Must be a generational thing. I have no idea what a fandom is or who the "stupid people" are. Where I really get lost is how it can be a fandom of fandoms but get left out of fandoms. Not trying to make light of this. I can see it upsets you. I'm just laughing at myself for being so ancient and out of touch.

Lord of the Rings is the origin of fandom. It was the first book to have a "fandom". It is the fandom of fandoms and these stupid people don't include it in their silly symbol pics. It peeves me. They don't know the beauty of these stories!
