I was positively buzzing with the amt of caffeine I consumed this morning.

Hey, Guys and Dolls...can I ask a question? (well, I can ask...you don't have to answer ;))
Went to dinner with a friend and had the most disturbing meal of my life! The food was great...service...etc. It was the spur of the moment scene that shook me up. I was close to tears.
My friend and I were actually just about to pay when a commotion started a few tables from us. There was this woman, who was clearly skunked, like falling over her own feet drunk. My first thought was..."I hope she didn't drive here alone." and then I noticed she was carrying a baby carrier. My heart sank...like...bottomed out. She was indeed alone...unable to walk a straight line and precariously carrying this baby (who wasn't even strapped in).
My instinct was...well, to not let her leave. Had no idea what I could do to stop her, but I felt like I needed to do something. The staff beat me to it though, and thankfully I hadn't done anything on my own because it got violent. (police were called)
In the mean time...this woman swore and thrashed...and she dropped her baby. (baby was okay) I was in tears...like sick. One of the waitresses grabbed the baby up and the woman lunged for her. This guy came out of no where and tackled her to prevent her from hurting the waitress or the baby.
I was just praying for the police to get there. The staff subdued her...they were really working as a team in the protection of this child.
I don't know the woman's story, so I can't judge but...why? Why would you go somewhere...get sloshed and endanger your baby?
I don't want to be Debbie Downer, but I'm just shaken by that. What would you have done?

I'd have done the same thing the workers did. If it got out of hand that fast, there's no telling what would happen if she was aloud the rest of the night on her own
I was scared for the baby mostly...but the way it went from one of the staff asking if they could call her a cab to her attacking, and dropping her baby was shocking to me. I have witnessed many a drunk person...never anything like that though.

I'm sorry you had to witness that but I'm glad the baby is ok. I no insights into behaviour like that. People are just......I dotted that on purpose cause I didn't wanna cuss in here. That whole thing would have left me shaken as well. Who knows what kind of place that woman was in in her head when she not only endangered herself but her baby as well. People can snap so fast for whatever reason and Alcohol never helps if you're already in a volatile state. Thank goodness she was stopped though. That's what matters.
Wow...
I don't even know what to say to that.
Some people are just not worthy of being parents. Thank God there were those with a sense of mind to stop this.
Sucks you had to see all this Sarah :(

Yeah, I couldn't agree with you guys more. I'm just hoping everything turns out right for the baby. I know so many other people who want a child they can care for...and do it right, but can't. To me the whole act on the woman's part was selfish...out to drink her problems away instead of looking at the grift she was given. :(
ANYWAY!!! :)
Hope you all are having a Lovely Lazy Sunday ;)
The sun is out here but again with the cold....ughh.
