And I've read the books many times over. Even the differences in the movie don't bother me much because so much of the real story is in it!

I still have to read the books too......I've read The Hobbit though.
same here Holly, that one I read, but the beginning of the LotR is so long winded compared to the usual fast starts I've grown used to lol I know it's bad but damn haha

I know a lot of people read them when they were teenagers but I didn't get there until the movies came out.

Seriously, Mikey, get past the first few chapters (which are just character and history builds) and you will be enraptured!!
I was maybe nine or ten when I read it for the first time. (this and Chronicles of Narnia I read in the same year...did you know Tolkien and Lewis were friends?) Well, I wanted to be in Middle Earth or Narnia...I still get transported there when I read them! :)
I have all three books in one too, but mine's paperback.
