I enjoy classical music when I'm reading as well.

Sometimes, when the music crescendos, it feels like a soundtrack for the images unfolding in my mind... *smile*

I can and do listen to different kinds of music when I write but unless they're classical, instrumental, or nature sounds, like Q mentioned, I usually have to keep them at a lower volume so that they don't interrupt my train of thought.

Mind you, if I'm writing a scene where the piece of music actually has some significance regarding what takes place there, that's different. Then it's like the music for the movie playing out in my head! *smile*

I can listen to music with lyrics while reading...prefer to have music on at all times!

I just get so into the song while writing that I start typing lyrics...I will go back to read over and I'm like What the? ;)
