Hey Guys,

Finished another 4 night stretch at the hospital this morning. Am sitting with a coffee on the deck at the back of my house and taking stock. Had a couple of dicey cases this week. Brain tumors and neck tumors. Biopsy results aren't in yet so there is a bit of a wait for those patients.

There's a lovely mid afternoon sun shining down which is great respite from this cold winter we're having down here. It was 3 degrees centigrade when I stepped through the hospital doors this morning.

There's a flurry of news from your part of the world, mainly to do with the #SCOTUS ruling (which I think is fabulous). Not so pleasant are the reports out of France and North Africa today. I'm reminded of a line from the movie Se7en, towards the end of the movie where Morgan Freeman's character quotes Hemingway;

"Hemingway once said - 'The world is a fine place and worth fighting for' - I believe in the second part..."

An Australian Rules Football match is on the radio - Essendon vs. Hawthorn. Tight game that could go either way at this stage.

What are your plans heading into the weekend? Any social events on? Do you have children's sports to attend? Are you catching up with friends? Or are you going to take a quiet moment and breathe?

I'd like to know.

I'm going to take Sam for a walk I think..
