Gord's 2020 Reading Challenge

Uzumaki (Junji Ito in general honestly)
Vagabond
I Hate Fairyland
The Breaker
My Love Story
Full Metal Alchemist
xxxHolic (I love the artwork in this one)
Black Lagoon
Lumberjanes
Laid Back Camp
Oh My Goddess
Barakamon
Emma
Courtney Crumrin
Princess Ugg
Interview With Monster Girls
School-Live
Flying Witch
Hack/Slash
I'm sure there is more but those would be my big stand out ones.
The artwork in xxxHolic is so neat! I only read a couple of them though I should go back and read the whole thing.
I'm with you Gord, I used to not count manga/grapic novels in my counts either but then I had basically stopped reading it all together so that didn't work for me either.
Love Fruits Basket so much! I read it when it first came out and don't know that I ever quite finished it either. Loving the anime reboot.
Battle Angel Alita is one I keep contemplating starting as well.
I watched the anime for Interview With Monster Girls. I'm currently working my way through Flying Witch.
I think you will make your goals this year with how fast you've been reading. But either way, enjoy the ride :)
Also if you find any really cool challenges share! I love adding more even if I really don't need any.

-Scavenger hunts: I've done both super big but easier lists and smaller but harder lists.
-Bingo's: I'm working through a few of these
-Task based: This is either get a set of task where you have to complete one before you get the next one. Or you get all the tasks for that challenge and you work through as you please.
-Spelling: Spell a word or words using titles or author initials. Basic but I like the passive nature of these kind of challenges.
-A to Z: Another passive challenge that can be broad when it comes down to setting up the challenge. You can make this challenge super easy or super hard.

Nicely done! I'd love that kind of time off. All those precious books! Life and work need to stop being so insane for awhile.

Currently from the library I have:

My library is currently shipping me:

I still need to read this month:

Then I have a couple of of buddy reads I want to get to that are 800 pagers.
So many books, not enough time.
That is a lot of books! You'll get there I'm sure!
I have 16 graphic novels/manga from the library currently and a whole bunch of other things I want to read though so I totally get it. Nevermind how many keep coming in digitally. There are not enough hours in the day.

That annoying thing called work keeps taking up way too much time. I think I need to decline overtime for awhile. This ended up being one too many night shifts in a run. I am very done.
There will never be enough time though. So many amazing shiny things keep coming out!

I either have or am picking up the following:

The Akhenaten Adventure sounds like a good MG book. I read so few of that age range these days. But looks like you have a good pile of books overall!

Amazing! I was reading what you said about middle grade books and I totally agree. Last year I read The Honest Truth by Dan Gemeinhart and absolutely loved it! Another of my favorites that is considered middle grade is Skellig. Read that book a long time ago and re-read it again recently. It holds a special place in my heart. :)
By the way, great job on your challenges!! 273 books is a LOT, you’re awesome!
Gord you're doing awesome! Very jealous of all the books you've been reading 😉 The measly two books I read in the last month is just sad in comparison 😂
Books mentioned in this topic
Stormbreaker (other topics)Demons of the Ocean (other topics)
The Fairy-Tale Detectives (other topics)
Magic Breaks (other topics)
Vision in Silver (other topics)
I'm not going to list all my other challenges in here as I've got some 70 plus challenges on the go currently and I use a spread sheet to track all of them. Some of these challenges are monthly, some are six month challenges, some are yearly, and some are just open ended. I've got one that requires some 3,000 plus books to finish. I'm slowly chipping away at the one.
What I will probably do over the coming days is update this thread with my monthly reading totals for books and pages.
