Good morning! It's 5 AM where I am March 1, going to start this now, glad to hear it is a character driven book, that is my favorite!

So I got a weird Audio CD version for now until the ebook comes in - but I'm on the 3rd CD now. It's a cute book so far! I do like the two together.

I'm about 20% in, it is definitely a character driven book, which I am a big fan of. Also I live in Southern California where there is a huge Hispanic population.. In fact my daughter's boyfriend is Mexican, so I find the cultural aspect to it all very interesting.

Well I'm at about 38% and I'm liking it, I have a few problems though.(view spoiler)[These 15-year-old boys are not like any 15-year-old boys I have ever met, and I have two boys about the same age. I am of the impression Dante is gay and Aristotle is not. I seriously doubt he would've let Dante give him a sponge bath, no matter what.. The thing I really really do like about this book is the parenting, both boys have great parents. I don't see that happening very often and young adult books, and it is a very big shame! Curious to see where this goes and if I'm right in my assessment. (hide spoiler)]

I am at about 58% now, Tati have you read any of John Greens books? Or Eleanor and Park?I think those are all very character driven, and kind of have a similar theme to this book. So, if you like those I would say keep

I think Aristotle, is becoming more of a realistic teenager to me, I like that he is become friends with Gina and Susie, I really do not know where the relationship between the two boys is headed? Obviously Dante is gay, not sure about Aristotle, I think not. It will be hard, culturally, the Mexican culture is not as excepting as some others are. (hide spoiler)]

That's the thing, I didn't really like John Green's books (I DNF The Fault In Our Stars, for instance).

What bugs me here is that, the blurb says that Aristotle is an angry teen, but I haven't seen that yet

I agree confused would have probably been a better word for it.or lonely, or cut off, or probably 1 million other adjectives, I don't really see him as angry. It isn't all that long of the book, so I say keep reading, it probably won't be your favorite, but probably not your least favorite either :-)

Tati , What are some of your favorite books? I'm just curious, ! I do like most books, and I am really enjoying this one, but is definitely not a thrill a minute kind of book. I'm nearing the end and(view spoiler)[I hate intolerance of any kind, but I do not believe you should fight violence with violence, and I really hope this is not going to take that direction.. I also am not sure if I missed why Aristotle's brother is in jail. Are they just have not revealed that yet, or may never. (hide spoiler)]
