Sci-Fi! An Ex-CIA/FBI agent sent to retrieve the names of citizens who witnessed a UFO crashing from a tour bus. He wen't on a search to find them, but they were all mysteriously dead caused by some tragic accident. The only one I remember is a guy who worked at an auto shop was crushed by a car while in the pit. He randomly will speak sentences in French throughout the book. He met the love if his wife in war (I think she was his nurse). They are separated (I don't remember why) but he is still madly in love with her. The end is a whole set-up. I think they wanted him dead at the end? I swear the book was titled THE CONSPIRACY THEORY. But I cannot find it anywhere!


He realized everyone he found was already dead. I read this around 2006. I think the book was older (like written in the 80s) but could be completely wrong.
