With these kind of books there's nothing much to say.
*I was laughing at the sheep bombing cuz who in their right mind does that? I like the guys, Thorne is a special kind 😂
*For a second I was afraid for the lamb
*the spinster hive’s queen bee 😂😂
*😂 Mrs. Lange and her poem

Mostly, I wanted to share this book with you cause I wanted to have someone to laugh with. Because Tessa Dare is the funniest historical romance author I've ever encountered so far lmao
That scene with the sheep bombing was HILARIOUS. The timing of it was great too cause Tessa's comedic timing is always on point. Just when you start telling people how safe your town is, something goes BOOM in the distance. Classic lmao.
And I was particularly dying at the part where he tackles her and when he tells her he bombed the sheep, her immediate thought was "oh poor guy, he must be mentally ill from the war"! And Colin having fun with it 😂
I really like the guys too! And I'm already excited for the next books bc they each get their own books at some point! I think Colin is next. Which reminds me of, yes Mrs Lange's poem 😂 The best part was how it was silent for a beat and then Colin was applauding 😂😂 ah man, i adore these people already
I have to say that after the under the tree sex scene I'm like "oh, great, another sex scene in public" whenever they can't control their desires 🙄🙄

I was mostly okay with the under the tree scene but what I was mostly bothered about was the fact that it was so public for the timeline it was in. Cause these days, you could have sex in public and you'll just get a slap on the wrist for it. Back then, if caught, it's a whole scandal. And it wasn't like they were being careful either? It was like full-on "let's take all our clothes off in the TOWN CENTRE, close to where there's a rowdy tavern where anyone can walk out and see us". I was bothered by it? But I wasn't mad. I just needed a bit of suspension of disbelief from then onwards.
I enjoyed the book a lot regardless because this is Tessa Dare and she's so hilarious to me and I loved the little snippets of other characters. But I agree! It was just okay. Mostly because the romance was just a straight "they meet and then fall in love almost immediately" romance. I think the next book will be more up our alley.
Just from reading the beginning of this book, I knew Minerva was gonna be paired off with the most outlandish rake ever because that's mostly just how it goes lmao so as soon as I saw Colin, I was like "THAT ONE. IT HAS TO BE".
