Dionne Kathleen (dionnekathleen) | 12 comments Hi everyone, I read a romantic novel, part of a sequel, set in the 1930's to 1940's (I think). I read both books between 1999 and 2004. The books are about a red haired female reporter, who moved to a small town somewhere in the West.As far as I can remember she wasn't exactly welcome in town, because of her manner. Eventually she married a man who is half native american. In the sequel they explore life as a couple after their seperation, due to a miscarriage. Between the first and second book, the husband left for war. the sequel started when the lead character was looking for him at the station after his return from war. I also remember the husband having a brother who lost his fiancee named Su-Lin. I can't remember the name of either book or the name of the writer. I really would like to read the books again. Thanks in advance

Do you remember anything about the covers?

Dionne Kathleen (dionnekathleen) | 12 comments no sorry, I remember the book starting with the reporter having car trouble at the edge of town. That's when and where she met her future husband. The book had a happy ending. the second one started in the midst of their seperation and unhappiness.

Kathleen, the usual bump period is 30 to 90 days. You've had people checking your thread out, just so far only Tab has had a suggestion. Give it time, bump up at the usual bump period and sooner or later it will get found.

Moving out of Abandoned. Dionne is still looking for this and wrote:

"I've read these books (2 of them) late 99 or early 00. A young red haired woman moves to the midwest to become a journalist. She falls in love with a native american man who rather keeps to himself. At one point in the book he mentions his brother and his brother's wife. The wife was called Su-Lin."
