Hi everyone, I read a romantic novel, part of a sequel, set in the 1930's to 1940's (I think). I read both books between 1999 and 2004. The books are about a red haired female reporter, who moved to a small town somewhere in the West.As far as I can remember she wasn't exactly welcome in town, because of her manner. Eventually she married a man who is half native american. In the sequel they explore life as a couple after their seperation, due to a miscarriage. Between the first and second book, the husband left for war. the sequel started when the lead character was looking for him at the station after his return from war. I also remember the husband having a brother who lost his fiancee named Su-Lin. I can't remember the name of either book or the name of the writer. I really would like to read the books again. no sorry, I remember the book starting with the reporter having car trouble at the edge of town. That's when and where she met her future husband. The book had a happy ending. the second one started in the midst of their seperation and unhappiness.
