Believe it or not there are another 6 writers here!! Next Week, Tuesday, Cakebreads - the local shop / post offfice / cafe, is holding a coffee morning to raise money to support the local loo!! Cornwall council decided to close it so the parish council has taken it on, and they need all the funds they can get. Title of the coffee morning is POTTY ABOUT BOOKS and coffee drinkers and raffle ticket buyers will get to meet the local authors and talk about their books!!
You've got me jealous. I used to love taking my kids down to Cornwall and Devon when they were small. Me and my missus say we are going to move to Devon WHEN my books take off! :O)
This is my first full colour illustrated children's book - currently available on Amazon as an ebook. I am looking to also get it into paperback sometime in the near future. Please see my short book trailer which will give you a good idea of content and points to the amazon ebook link. Thank you :)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cHsWs...
Hello, everyone. My name is Philip Dodd. I live in Liverpool, England. I was born in 1952, have a degree in English literature from Newcastle University, and I have been writing songs, stories and poems since I was twelve. My first book, Angel War, was published in April, 2013. It was a finalist in the Wishing Shelf Independent Book Awards for 2013, I am pleased to say.My new book, Klubbe the Turkle and the Golden Star Coracle, was published March, 31st, 2015. I have had poems published in my local newspaper, the Liverpool Echo and in The Dawntreader, a quarterly poetry magazine, published by Indigo Dreams Publishing. Next year I plan to publish a collection of my poems called Ploughlands. At the moment, I am working on a sequel to my Klubbe story, called Assinarc.

My thanks Anita. Nice to meet you. And yes, coffee drinker here. I'm on my second cup at the moment here in my office desk. :)
Hi. My name is Kasi, and I write YA Paranormal books. I've been writing since I was 12 and fell in love with books while doing a class assignment. I wrote for Harlequin a few years ago, romantic suspense, but I always had a soft spot for YA. I live on a farm now with cows, ducks, chickens, a dog, and a few cats. That's all I can think of to say at the moment.
Welcome Kasi. I've always wanted chickens, but not sure what to do about them when I'm away. Cows and ducks appeal too but the gardens not big enough!
Um...... So I kinda feel like I should introduce myself as I have been away soooo long!!Since I was last on here proper (ie for any length of time) I have changed jobs I think, moved. Got a cat, had to re home the cat, got fish, got a man, had to let him go too(this week actually so still a little raw), passed the first module of my degree and now struggling to write the essay for the next one!!
I am determined to stick around this time, I love you guys.
Reading wise I have tried to keep up with my book challenge. Am currently re re re rereading the Harry Potter books!!!!
Hope I find everyone well xxxx
I know I know!! Am so pleased I am friends with so many of you on Facebook though so I havent totally lost touch!I promise to do better xx
EMMA !!!!! how lovely to see you, my word you have been very busy haven't you. Sorry to hear that things haven't been all good for you but hope from now on life will improve.Congratulations on passing the first module and good luck with the next. I really am very pleased to hear from you, look your chair is there waiting for you so looking forward to chatting again very soon. You have been missed. Lots of love and welcome back x x x
We missed you too ! The puppy Emma is now almost 3. We do have a puppy in the family though. Nikki and Nick lost Basil last August so now have a 6 month old cocker pup called Freddie, he's lovely !
I might just do that!! Can't promise anything as my 90yr old Nan (remember my grandparents with their sewage problem, which thankfully is now sorted) is in hospital up in London so a lot of evenings I am going straight up there after work but if I am home then that could be fun :-)
Sorry to hear that, of course I remember your Grandparents, so pleased the sewage got sorted for them, not before time either. I do hope your Nan will get well again soon, please give her my love.Join us if and when you can.
Hi I'm Sophie and I live in London with my daughter, Niamh and two cats, Merlin & Tigger. My reading goal this year is 150 (though so far I'm woefully behind at only 18 as only get to read on the tube to and from work most of the time!). Any suggestions towards my reading challenge of "51 States of America" would be welcomed as am struggling with Delaware, Utah and Maine!
Hi Sophie! Sorry I can't help with the challenge. I don't set myself challenges - I just read. And I mean JUST!
Hi Sophie, welcome to the forum. Like Kath, I'm not really a challenge person I 'm afraid. But settle in. I'm sure there'll be someone here that can help you out :-)
Hello Sophie, welcome to the group. Sorry I can't help with your challenge but someone in the group will have some suggestions.

L.A. wrote: "Welcome Kasi. I've always wanted chickens, but not sure what to do about them when I'm away. Cows and ducks appeal too but the gardens not big enough!"It is hard to go anywhere. I have to ask someone to take care of them when I'm gone.
Hi everyone. Glad to be a part of the group. Looking forward to hearing what people are reading and even writing. Also, I am hoping to tell people about the great books I have read.
Hi Stephen, lovely to meet you. We like hearing what others are reading and would recommend, you will soon feel at home.
Anita wrote: "Hi Stephen, lovely to meet you. We like hearing what others are reading and would recommend, you will soon feel at home."Thanks Anita! I will enjoy hearing about recommendations too.

Music to my ears! :)
Hi I’m new to book groups, but I’m an enthusiastic reader of historical fiction, particularly on the literary spectrum. I recently finished reading The Miniaturist by Jessie Burton. I blog occasionally and write novels in my spare time (which is something of a paradox because I don’t actually have any – working parents will get what I mean). I’ve only published one book so far, the others are loitering in some back alley on my pc waiting to be dusted off and made presentable. Anyway, very pleased to be a member of your group, it seems a friendly and helpful site.
Welcome to the forum, Anna. Dust off a cushion and pull up a chair. Everyone's friendly and most don't bite ;-)

Well, I put Manchester just so people have an idea of the whereabouts in UK. I'm originally from Leigh near Bolton and now living in the Tameside area. There appear to be quite a few writers around here though.
Best Wishes,
Allan
