Judy Penz Sheluk writes two mystery series: the Glass Dolphin Mysteries (The Hanged Man's Noose; A Hole in One) and the Marketville Mysteries (Skeletons in the Attic; Past & Present; A Fool’s Journey). Her short crime fiction appears in several collections, including The Best Laid Plans: 21 Stories of Mystery & Suspense, which she also edited.

In her less mysterious pursuits, Judy has worked as a freelance writer and editor; her articles have appeared regularly in dozens of U.S. and Canadian consumer and trade publications.

Judy is also a member of Sisters in Crime, International Thriller Writers, the South Simcoe Arts Council, the Short Fiction Mystery Society, and Crime Writers of Canada, where she serves as Vice Chair on the Board

To answer:

No. My legal name is Judy (not Judith, I was named after Judy Garland) maiden name Penz, married Mik Sheluk.

I chose to use my real name because I had a magazine publishing history and hoped that would bring some folks to my book, especially in the antiques community.

I think for pseudonym, it depends. If you want anonymity (for whatever reason) or a fresh start or separation from another work, then I think it's a great way to go.(less)
