Hello all,I'm Tracie, I currently live in Scotland and have one published book - The Boy Who Survived Brexit: An entirely fictional story about the events following March 29, 2019.
Thanks for having me in your group.
Hello everyone,So I wont lie and get straight to the point. I am here to promote my work. I would love to be a part of other discussions as well but just stating my primary priority.
I read the introduction statements about how awful it is that authors just put up promotional posts and rush off doing the same in other groups. Well I cannot speak for others so the statements below are solely about me and my journey of establishing myself as a writer.
I have previously published four books, two poetry and two fictional novels. The latest one was published in November, 2018, Amma and I.
I started my career in the hospitality industry but had to part ways due to health reasons. After trying my hand at various career options, I finally found peace in the world of words. It has been six years, and I have not looked back since. Of course there are days of self doubt, misery and the wait seems endless but I love creating stories that help me and hopefully help people around.
Do have a look at my profile, and if you see something that catches your eye, pick it up and have a read:)
Looking forward to hearing back from some of you regarding my work or life, have a lovely day!
Warm Regards,
Trishna Damodar
Hi i live in Staffordshire and have had a Goodreads account for a few years but never really used it. Ive predominantly used FB and Twitter before but wanted to just get more information books, new authors and chat with other book addicts so thought Id give this a go.Ive recently been part of the ARC group for a book being published by Christy Reece mid March and I really enjoyed this and the chat within the ARC network.
Im looking for new authors and books people can recommend and not just the Amazon hyped books.
Hello Trishna, Just to clarify, we don't hate authors we just like to engage with them in this group. We're more likely to read an authors book if they are active members and don't just spam us with links.
Hello Rebecca
We have several book recommendation threads if you do a quick search or go to the recommendation section. The "Pop in for a chat" thread is a good place to go for general chit chat and even the odd recommendation may appear there too.
We're pretty lax about rules except when it comes to clogging up the group with necessary threads and posts, we do have a place for everything if you look.
Hi -- My name is Mary Jane Walker, a Kiwi adventurer and travel writer with a UK passport. I've written seven books so far and just joined this group. Free from 4 to 8 April 2019, or 5 to 9 April NZ dates. bit.ly/MavAnthology. Reviews appreciated!
Hey everyone, just came to introduce myself. My name is Tomas Milinavičius. I'm just a young soul traveling through life and mind. At the moment I'm based in London and trying to fulfill my dreams. And actually, yesterday was the first step that I've done it. Yesterday I've published my first poetry/psalms book "Life In My Ink" It has 4 chapters and will let you know a bit about them.
CHAPTER 1 - "I am who I am" - it's about myself and how I use to travel, how I see the life with my own eyes.
CHAPTER 2 - "You will bloom again" - it's about that whenever you feel down or too depressed, you need to know one thing, you will bloom again, you will outstand everything in your path and be able to feel the endless joy within yourself once again.
CHAPTER 3 - "A world of something beautiful" - I speak about how beautiful world is if you only allow yourself to go and see it yourself, with your own eyes.
CHAPTER 4 - "Believe in love like love believes in you"- it's about love from everything to everything, from everyone to everyone, from anywhere to anywhere. Universal love.

Hi I am Sofie, I like reading and running, I wish I could do both at the same time. My other hobbies dont start with R, I like writing too however. I have a blog about running and mental health and would like to write my journey as a book. Mainly into Horror and Sci-Fi but I also like all the other things I like.
Hi, I'm a Canadian mystery author. Judy Penz Sheluk I joined this group to see what sort of things UK readers are looking for. I have pretty good success in US and Canada but UK has been elusive, perhaps because my books are set in Canada. Anyway, I'll follow this and see if I learn anything. Besides writing, I love to golf (but am quite mediocre), run (used to do marathons but now stick to 3-5k), and walk my almost 4-year-old Golden Retriever, Gibbs (named after Leroy Jethro Gibbs on NCIS, not sure if you have that show in UK). And I love to read. I'm at about 30 books so far this year, mostly mystery and suspense. I love Tana French, Paula Hawkins, Gillian Flynn, Fiona Barton, John Sanford, Michael Connelly and the late, great Sue Grafton, to name a few. Oh, and I also love my own books :-) And anything on TV with Kirsti Alsop and Phil Spencer when I can view it in Canada.

Hello, all. I was here some time back, but dropped out of Goodreads for a while. Now I'm trying to get back into it, and thought I'd reintroduce myself. I live in SE England. Favourite fiction reading is historical/mystery. I also sometimes read sci fi and romance, and anything else that takes my fancy. I also like to re-visit books I enjoyed as a child.
I also write historical mystery.
I've read all the other Shardlake books, but haven't got around to Tombland yet. Those are books I need to give my full attention to; they're not for when you just want to fill in a few minutes with something undemanding. For the Tudors, have you come across Dorothy Dunnett? She wrote a very well researched series. They do need to be read in order, because there's an ongoing storyline.
Earlier this year I started reading a series set in and around the Restoration Navy by J.D. Davies. Again well researched. A lot of the people from Pepys' Diary appear.
Hello everyone. I’m a new author from the UK, based in Hong Kong.
I am a fan of Stephen King, Stephen Leather and Tess Gerritsen, amongst other similar styles.
I’ve written my first fiction novel. It’s a crime mystery with an undercurrent of mental health/depression. It’s called, RAMUS, if you choose to look for it. I’ve had a lot of good feedback from independent people.
Hello! My name is Alina and I'm author of 2 novels The 2 Richards and Let me know if you still...I like to write the truth: about real feelings, real emotions and true love. My life is full of creativit. I spent a few years on television, at present I work as a marketer and every day I spend writing texts. If, after reading this book, you would like to share your impression with me, I am always open to communication! Today The 2 Richards is FREE on Amazon!
And don't forget, please, write a review on Amazon or Goodreads. It's very important for me and my holiday book!
Hi, I’m Simon and for the last eight years, I have authored the ‘Marriage Man’ series of books. Eight are published and I’m busy writing number nine. They are mainly set against a background of civil registration. You are probably thinking along the lines of ‘Love, Lies & Records’ but there is so much more to this subject than what appears on TV!
Each time I’ve finished a book it was intended to be the last one in the series – and then bitten by the authoring bug I wrote another. That must happen to so many writers but that is where I diverge from the mainstream. It is evident from many of the posts made by authors here that they are avid readers of other peoples’ work. Not me. In the last handful of years, I’ve only read two works of fiction, both by Dickens – Great Expectations and Little Dorrit. Frankly, I’d much sooner write. So, what I’ve written may not be top-notch but I enjoy doing it and that’s why I write my books.

Hello. I'm a long-time member of Goodreads (you can find reviews on my page) but this is the first time I've joined a group. I'm a reader and a writer. I enjoy a range of genres, from sc-fi (I was brought up in a house with every sci-fi novel published in English up to the 1960s) to literary. I'm a geneticist by training, though most of my work has been in the field of international aid. My debut novel, The Tears of Boandil, a literary thriller, comes out in September 2020.
Hi all. Thought I'd quickly introduce myself. I'm Mikael from Scotland. A lifelong Horror fan and now writer (nothing published yet).Looking forward to hanging out with you all.
Hi, I'm Steve or S. B. I don't live in the UK but I've visiited, traveled about your country. I'm a published author with novels on the shelf and others upcoming. Written Mystery/Thriller, Sci/Fi Romance, horror, and a New Adult series. I write what pops into my mind and I'd love to read. I am now an Indie author because I’ve been screwed by independent publishers; that's a horror story! My latest is a horror novel. I like stories with intense emotions and dynamic characters, as human nature was my area of expertise as a school psychologist and Clinical Social Worker. I don't like mindless horror, or graphic horror, violence without a unique plot. I grew up watching the black and white 1940s and 50s classic movies Dracula, Wolfman, Frankenstein with implied violence. Serial killers now bore me. creativity catches my interest. Any help I can be to fellow writers, glad to assist. I love to chat and discuss anything, www.redstoneauthor.com

HiI've been on Goodreads a couple of years. I mostly read on my Kindle. My reading goes in fits and starts according to work and other commitments!
I like reading books that help explore and educate me about humanity (people's beliefs, thoughts, feelings, motivations etc). I read various books about Christianity but I also enjoy novels too including detective fiction
Hi, my name is Inna Rothmann and together with my friend Irina Sirbu, I have written a book Surviving Covid-19 in a Foreign Land: Stories of Expats and Migrants Around the World. I am an expat and Irina is a migrant, so we wanted some perspective on how people like us are dealing with the pandemic. The book will be available for free on December 29. Hi,This is probably more of a reintroduction.
I’m Martin from south Cheshire. Most of my reading is done on my Kindles. I have fairly wide tastes regarding books, I’m currently reading Aneurin Bevan’s In Place of Fear and Robert Rankin’s The Brentford Triangle. Yesterday I finished Spy Trap by A R Martin...a rather good espionage thriller set in 1940.
Just now started buying Frank McDonough’s books dealing with Nazi Germany, it’s dark stuff I know but I think that it’s important to understand how things can go so wrong, so quickly.
My main problem now is that I have more books than time to read them.
Anyway, thanks for reading this, look after yourselves and stay safe!
"My main problem now is that I have more books than time to read them."I suspect you're not the only one on this group :-)
Hello,my name is Elie Azar, I’m 27 years old and I’m from Lebanon.
To me, writing is a safe space where I can freely express myself and let my emotions be.
A place where I forget my own gender, age and race, a place where my heart is the only boss.
Throughout the course of my life, writing has been my coping mechanism, writing about people and things that happened with me, and how I wish things could have been, gave me this sense of power and freedom.
Every time I write, I feel like I broke the chains of my chaotic silence.
I just published my first poetry book, "Scribbles of the mind".
I hope that you will be able to relate to it somehow, and I am positive you will.
Your feedback is highly appreciated.
This is my first book and your support would mean a lot to me.
My main and sole goal is to reach as many hearts as possible.
Thank you so much.
Elie.
Scribbles of the mind
Hi all, I was born and raised in Australia, and now live in the Cotswolds of England. I recently published a political thriller called Twelve Miles from Alice. It is set in Australia and based on real events that surrounded the dismissal of Prime Minister Whitlam in 1975. The link is below. The decisions and actions of the Whitlam Government were critical to my life and future career. Soon after coming to power, Whitlam ended conscription, brought all Australian troops home from Vietnam and abolished tuition fees. So instead of a gun and a fast boat to Vietnam on my eighteenth birthday, I was handed a free education at the University of New South Wales. How lucky was I?
