Introduce Yourselves here
It is true that real maple syrup is an amazing thing. While you may not have access to real Canadian maple syrup, you can always get a look at real Canadian bear skins, by checking out the British Foot Guards.
Hiya James!Which bit of Canada are you from? I'm from near Toronto.
And don't let these Brits fool you. They can get real Canadian maple syrup in the UK. They just don't know how to properly use it on bacon.

My name is Kim and I am from Clacton on Sea"
Which is nearer Canada that Baku, so that probably makes you Canadian as well :-)
Welcome aboard Kim
Hello, my name is Jason and I'm a bookaholic...well Kindleaholic now....I just like to read, a lot.I am from St.Helens, it's oop North

Hi Jason, you will fit right in, we all Kindleaholics, great isn't it !
Hello all. David here from sunny (well, not today!) Lyme Regis in Dorset. Avid reader, occasional scribbler.
Hello David, Lyme Regis is beautiful, in fact it's my cousins favourite palace and they visit several times a year. Welcome to the group.
Hi, my name's Gareth and I'm from the the South Wales valleys (not that I've acquired the accent). I've been following the group for a few days and thought I would be polite and say hello.I'm very much looking forward to contributing, but mostly looking forward to learning a lot ... especially about bacon.
So, nice to meet you and hopefully see you around the forums.
Hi Will, Catherine and Stu and thanks for the welcome Patti and Anita. I've had time to potter around the forum a little today and I'm pleased to say that I feel right at home!
Hi Will, Catherine and Stu, come on in out of the cold. Nice you feel at home G.J that's what we like to hear, everyone welcome
The only trouble with this group Stu is that it's addictive, there are so many lovely people and very quickly you start to care about them and value their friendship, with all that you will find that you are always running late, never get anything done on time as you want a bit more time chatting to your pals. There is a price to pay for everything I guess.
Hi everyone Another kindleholic here (well and bookholic too). My reading tastes are ecclectic to say the least, from crime thrillers to classics, fantasy/sci-fi to historical. Everything, pretty much.
Oh my name is Veronique and I live in London. For the Canadians out there, you might like to know that I lived one year in Victoria on Vancouver Island. Gorgeous place, and yes maple syrup is divine but I prefer it on pancakes :0)
Hi Veronique, unfortunately the only place I've been in Canada was Fruitvale in BC. Awesome open countryside! Welcome to the forum btw!
HiJust stopped going to my old bookclub, nobody else was reading the book!! Got this mouths book - so here I go.
I got 'The Lost Empress' for this bookclub but want to finish 'The Three Hostages' by John Buchan first, near the end now.
The Lost Empress is very very good John. Have you read the first 3 novels ? If not then they are well worth reading. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
No, but I have just read the author saying they are stand alone story's so will read this one, than go back if I like. Thank you for your welcome.
Hi thereJohn from North Yorkshire here. I've long been a book lover and treated myself to a Kindle last year. I'll never give up physical books but I liked the idea of portability for holidays/travel. Also I was taken with the idea of discovering new authors and self-publishing authors rather than the few that manage to make it through the traditional publishing system. It has been a bit of a lottery so far.
Having returned to GR after an absence I'm hoping to find somewhere to talk about my trials and errors, and hopefully get recommendations from others.
Hi John from North Yorks, I'm Anita from South Yorks, welcome to our group. Kindle is great for being able to take loads of books on your travels and even better for discovering new authors. I am sure you will find lots of people wanting to chat on here so pull up a chair. It's lovely to meet you.
I have had my kindle for a while now & I love it. Still have a few bookcases for all the books I love, now I only have nice looking books eg Folio Society.Thank you all for your welcome.
Am enjoying my first book for 'book of the mouth' - good fun so far.

All Canadians have to bring a gift of maple syrup, I'm afraid, as Patti informs us the stuff we eat is not the real thing.
