Hi I'm sorry this is probably in the wrong place but I was wondering if someone could advise me.Sometimes when I download a book onto my kindle it doesn't let you know what page you're on it will only say something like "location 7 of 15120" does anyone know how I get change this so I see what page I'm on?
Wish I could answer this for you, Kirsty, but I don't know. You'd be best posting in either the good morning thread, or the agony aunt thread. More likely for someone to see it in the morning thread as it's so busy :~)

I could be wrong (I often am, but don't tell!) but I think it depends on how the book is set up on publication. Some never have pages shown. When you think about it, the number of pages will vary depending on how big or small you set the font so it's not straightforward.
Hi All, I'm Kayleigh and I'm into pretty much anything as long as it's good, but if forced to choose it would have to be historical fiction and fantasy. My kindle is my most prized possession and it's never far from my hand. Please feel free to throw any recommendations my way!

I have noticed that before but with this one I have had a play with the font size and its still the same I'll just have to have to live with it.
Thanks I'll try that link and post it in there :)

Depends on which kindle you have, Kirsty.
Click on 'settings' then look for 'reading progress'. Click that then click on 'page in book'
You have to have the book you're reading open for this to work and page numbering has to be enabled by the publisher. Not all books have page numbers.

Thanks, guys!
Anna, you should totally visit Gib! Friendliest place you'll ever go :)
HiI am new to the group. I wrote my first book two years ago. Got it published on Lulu and of course it just sat there since I did not have time to market it and did not know how to. Have revamped the book now and its on Amazon with a new cover. The old cover was not very good. I have just finished writing another three books. They are about to be published. This time am going to market properly.
I enjoy reading and listening to audio books. I regularly work at my desktop with my audio book going. I enjoy writing. I sell on eBay, started after being made redundant. Gave a presentation on eBay that went very well. Someone suggested I write a book on it. So I did.
Pleasure to meet you all
George
I just noticed my link to Unread Threads wasn't working in my opening comment so I have fixed that and dropped it here. The Unread Threads is a good way to get started in the group if you want to see what conversations are active!

Hello Kay. It was a sign outside waterstones about the club 3 yrs ago asking people to sign up if they were interested. We had about 25 to start with but have gradually dwindled to about 8, which is more manageable anyway. We meet 2nd Thursday every mth at 7 in the shop. The local author is mark gartside, the book we reviewed was what will survive. He's a lovely man and enjoyed speaking to him about his writing but his books aren't for me though some of the others liked it. He lives in Maine in America now so not very local.
Hello everyone. I'm Graham from West Brom. Fortunately my black country accent does not come across in my writing. I write children's fantasy and will read just about anything, from Cornflakes packets to bus time tables. The only things I steer clear of are romance and sci-fi.Once I have taken my medication I hope to engage you all in witty conversation and I look forward to what you have to say.
Hi all. Not much to say about myself really. I like reading crime/mystery/thriller type books as well as a good smattering of Sci-Fi
Well in that case, Trevor… welcome to the group. Have a look around.*Was tempted to spam on the doorstep then. I resisted though.*
Hi Anita, my favourite Authors tend to be Sci-Fi Authors because of my past reading habits, Asimov, Clarke, Heinlein and the like but I'm catching up with more modern Authors from different genres more recently
Trevor wrote: "Hi Anita, my favourite Authors tend to be Sci-Fi Authors because of my past reading habits, Asimov, Clarke, Heinlein and the like but I'm catching up with more modern Authors from different genres ..."It's always a nice change to try something new Trevor, in fact the group gave quite a few of us the confidence to try different genres. Meeting our lovely authors also helps and apart from that it's lovely just meeting them.
Hi everyone,My name is Rachael and I am a 39 year old book lover. I haven't had as much time to read as I would like due to my job (assistant head teacher) and family (married 9 years with 2 daughters). But I recently discovered goodreads and have not stopped reading yet!
This club looks great with lots of great stuff going on...I am sure I will get round to investigating it all eventually. Looking forward to joining in with discussions and getting to know you all
Xx
Hi everyone. Never been part of a group like this before so it's totally new territory for me! I work full time in an office & got a kindle for my birthday 18 months ago. I was so against then. A traditional touch it feel it give me a book gal. Now I'm like a reformed smoker. It's the kindle way or no way! Anyhoo, howdy peeps :-)

Welcome to the group Ice. There are a lot of kindle users that felt like you when they first came out, myself included, it doesn't take long to become addicted to kindle once you start to use one.
I'm sure you will soon get into the group, it's just like talking to a room full of friends, so pull up a chair, grab a coffee and away you go, easy as that ! See you around very soon.
