Hi, it is a pleasure for me to join this group and I want to thank you for creating this group. My name is Dotchamou Zakari. I love reading books like most of you. I am also an author.Thanks.
Welcome aboard Lienner. There is something special about losing yourself in a fantasy world, it turns the book into a holiday :-)
I'm just reading The Way of Kings, Part 1 right now, it's a few years since I last read fantasy so I am really enjoying it. What are you reading Lienner ?
Hello everyone!I am Anna from Moscow. I practise my english by reading books and chatting:) You are welcome!
Hello :) I am Marie, and I do not live in the UK. I have been a member on UK forums and have even gone to forum meets in England and Wales to meet people in real life. So your group description says "Every hour is happy hour" and I am up at odd times when it is late here in the US, and I like to see what is going on with people in different time zones. I hope that is okay? I like to read about mythical creatures, unexplained mysteries, ufos, adventure, religion, psychology, and I am a serious Jane Austen fan. I am too chicken to read zombies or really scary paranormal stuff, but I like many things supernatural. I also write historical fiction, screenplays, and comedy. I am not officially a screenwriter yet, but I hope for it someday. I travel the world a lot, and in the UK I am crazy about stone circles and ancient sites. Actually my profile pic is me sitting in front of a brilliant yew tree in Wales but I cannot pronounce the name of the place. Also you guys have castles. Do you even know how cool that is?? I enjoy seeing what other people are reading and writing and I only recently got into ebooks. So that's me in a nutshell :). Feel free to add me as a goodreads friend if you would like. The more the merrier!
Hi, I'm not sure if this is the correct place to introduce myself, but hey!My name is Jenni, looking to discuss books, find out what other people enjoy reading and why the enjoy reading a particular genre or author. Hopefully this can direct me in my future book buying and reading as my shelf is getting quite full, i need to start getting a bit more picky ;)
I personally love political and historical thrillers and love a bit of dystopian literature. My all time favorite book is A Brave New World and The Book Thief.
Feel free to add me as a friend,
Jenni
Hi,I'm finding my way around Goodreads and have spent a few hours lurking through some of the threads on this forum. Looks like good fun.
So, onto the introduction. I write about murder, actually I write about loads of different things but crime is what I've published.
I read across genres, historical, thrillers, crime, dystopian, chick-lit, romance, horror, sci-fi - you name it, I'll read it. All I want is a good story, with characters I can feel something for (love or hate!) and a cracking plot. What has been really challenging, and interesting, is setting up on GR details of the books I've read. I'm nowhere near through what is a staggeringly long list but what is great is how many times I've discovered an old favourite that I just have to re-read again. Looking forward to being part of the group.
From what I can make out (never having read any of his stuff) he writes a good story that people enjoy
Hey guys I'm Meow. If you want a more passable name then I'm fine with Allison or Allie or any variant of Allison, too. I just joined goodreads today (mostly to bash Mockingjay because the first two books were so breathtakingly good I couldn't stand the significant drop in quality for the 3rd) and decided to join the community.
I'm from Taiwan (yep that place which isn't an official country atm) and I would love to get to know you all, and, yeah, find someone with similar taste.
Goodday to y'all!
My name is Jane Jago. I'm new to Goodreads and I thought this group looked friendly. I live in the West Country with my dog and my husband, and I'm a new author who writes whatever pops into her head.
However, I'm also an avaricious reader, to the extent that my friends tease me about reading beer bottles in pubs. But I only do that if they are talking about stuff I don't get...
My taste in books is pretty all encompassing and I do try to finish a book if I start it. Have only failed once or twice in the last few years.
Last failure was recommended to me by a lot of women and featured a colour in the title!!
I'm currently re-reading Jacqueline Carey's Terre d'Ange novels, which I like quite a lot as I find her flawed heroes and heroines fascinating.
That sounds like a lot of me, me, me stuff but I guess that's what introduce yourself is all about.
Meow wrote: "Hi Jane! Nice to meet you. I'm new around here too. Friends? :)"As long as you don't mind a mad person as a friend
Hello Meow and Jane, you have come to the right place for books, dogs and just about every other thing you can think of, welcome, make yourselves at home.
Hello!Always so lovely to greet new friends!
Loved what you said about reading beer bottles, Jane.
I do the same sort of thing when the Brits I'm forced to spend time with start talking about boring shit like football and how crap their government is.
Please notice. There are separate threads for boring shit like football and how crap the UK gov't is.
;)
A beer bottle thread. Now that sounds good!
Meow wrote: "Hi Jane! Nice to meet you. I'm new around here too. Friends? :)"You've joined our group. You're now surrounded by friends!
Can confirm Inferno is a good choice. Any Dan Brown book and you won't be bored! My fave is Angels and Demons. Haven't read any of the other's you've listed, but tell me if they are any good when you finish them.Happy reading,
J
Any book that we find immersive and enjoyable is a great choice! Our primary reason for being here is to share the books we love.
And bacon.
