Hi, I'm new here, so just saying "hello". I live in Lincolnshire, UK. My reading taste is mainly horror. I grew up on King and Herbert with a sprinkling of Laymon (and I turned out just fine!) I do occasional read fantasy (I'm reading Game of Thrones book 2 at the moment). I write, too, and have just published by debut horror novel.Nice to meet you all.
Welcome to the forum. The mug tree still has a few spaces on it, but the bacon in the fridge is all Patti's.
Hi All,I am kindle reader in the UK and a self published author. I am a Mod on the Goodreads group, Support Indie Authors.
Don't worry, I am not here to spam! I consider that to be counter productive.
I just like the thought of chatting with some people closer to home. SIA keeps me busy enough, but I may drop in from time to time.
Look forward to chatting with you.
Hi AllMy name is Dee and I live in Manchester. I have to describe myself as a readaholic. I enjoy paranormal; fantasy; thrillers; Y. I'm very family orientated, enjoy travelling, and surfing the internet. Almost forgot major Star Trek fan
Hello Dee, welcome to the group, I like in Sheffield so not far away from you. It's lovely to welcome any new readaholics.

It's lovely though, isn't it?"
Yes, it is rewarding, but I feel the need to log in daily! I took a short break to a little cottage near Balfron, not far from Loch Lomond. I was only gone a long weekend, but found the mobile network was only "2G"; calls and basic texts only!!
No Goodreads???
HelloI'm Janet and I'm an Aussie. I thought I should just get that out there. I grew up in the UK but I met a nomad who insisted we get married, and then moved me out here. I get back to the UK as often as I can afford and still eat a full English on the weekends, black pudding is mandatory. Because I miss the lovely weather so much I usually manage to arrive in mid winter...if I'm lucky I pick the years when you have the worst snow! By day I'm a tax accountant...I know, boring and offensive, but someone has to do it. By night I do a poor impression of a mystery author. I do have published books, they are selling really well, but I am not going to push them down anyone's throat. I read books faster than I can afford to buy them but I don't leave reviews. As an author I think it would leave me open to some negative kickback whether I was saying a book was good or bad, so I prefer to say nothing. I love books that are funny. No one has a sense of humor that can match the British. Mystery and romance are probably the books I read most often. Anyway, I hope you'll let me stay, despite the fact that I am one of them, you know an Aussie. I look forward to getting to know you.
Hi Janet, you are very welcome to the group wherever you live or come from, look forward to getting to know you.
Hello everyoneI'm Gavin, I'm from London, but now live in Dorset. I've been a photojournalist for over 20 years and while traveling with Greenpeace a few years ago, I decided to write a fiction book. I am now an Indie published author on Amazon and also have become a Kindle convert from books.
I like what I term escapist fiction which is anything well written that takes me away from real life. It doesn't have to be far away though, but just enough.
I also, for some unknown reason, find the First World War fascinating and moving and read fiction and no-fiction about it.
Hi all,My name is Mai, I'm from stockport but will be moving shortly to surrey. I love reading. the types of books that I enjoy are; romance, thrillers, comedy. It just depends on what mood I am in.
HiThought I'd quickly say hello to everyone and little about me.
I used to be an avid reader until my early 20s, then a decade of partying took over and my love of books fell by the wayside.
Now in my 30s (with my partying days over), life has taken a turn for the worse and I have a lot of spare time on my hands.
December of last year I was in fear my brain was beginning to turn to sludge and thought what better way to keep it stimulated by rekindling my love of books.
My problem was I simply don't have the space for anymore books so I looked into what e-readers had to offer and decided to go for a Kindle Paperwhite. Best purchase I made that year!
I've never read so much. Since December until now I've read 45 novels and feel so much better for it.
My tastes in literature are very eclectic but tend to be mostly fiction. I usually look at what's doing well on the bestseller lists and buy something off them. Although I've been extremely impressed with the novels I've read off Richard & Judy's seasonal choice books.
Last week I read John Waters autobiography - Role Models and Denton Welch's In Youth Is Pleasure. I've just begun reading We Need To Talk About Kevin by Lionel Shriver.
Well, that's about it from me.
I look forward to a positive experience in the partaking of this group :)

Hi, Martin from south Cheshire. I read all sorts, historical novels, some SF, thrillers, modern history..an eclectic mix, just as long as it's interesting and reasonably well written.
Hi, I'm Sharon from Cornwall. I work in mental health and reading is my escape as my job can be stressful. I love being out with my dog Poppy and enjoying the beautiful scenery here. My favourite genre is crime
