Craig | 3 comments I read the book around 2006 I can’t remember exactly. All I remember about the book is.
There is a computer that allows its users to travel through time and space. If they travel to space it forms a protective bubble around them so they can still breathe. There is a man who kidnaps a boy who was using the computer and leaves him to die in a volcano but the girl knows where he was left and goes to get him. I think the girl was the mans daughter. And the computer password is red.

Sorry if that’s too vague it’s all I can remember. And sorry if I made this post incorrectly. It’s my first time doing one.

Thanks for any help.

Gillian Wiseman (gillianwiseman) | 241 comments Is this a YA or juvenile title? Do you remember if it was set on Earth, or somewhere else? Are there any other bits from the story you remember? Why did the girl want to save the boy, and was there any other plot to the book that you remember? I feel almost as if I recognize this book, but I'm not sure.

Craig, that's a good start. You must add genre (e.g., adult or teen sci fi?) and more plot details (from your comments) to the topic header (title), so someone can recognize your book from that description alone. Many members only read the headers.

We have thousands of book requests. We close threads with vague headers.

Click the small "edit" link after the header. This only works on the full Desktop website - not the Mobile website or app. (On the Mobile website, there's a "Desktop version" link at the bottom of the page.)

- Is the password red a spoiler? If yes, we need a spoiler alert in the header.

I was in secondary school so I would say juvenile. It was set on Earth. That’s all I remember I’m afraid. She wants to save him because they found out what the computer can do together and were travelling for a bit before the man took the boy.

How’s that? I wouldn’t say red is a spoiler because it’s only used as the password. No other significance.

I added some plot details to the topic header, so your book might be recognized from the header alone. Many members only read the headers.
