What else are you watching?
I'm currently watching The Queen's Gambit. I've watched 3 episodes so far. I'm really enjoying it so I'm doling out the episodes. One per day. I'm also re-watching Hannibal. I finished season 2 yesterday. So. Much. Blood.

Just watched Wendy on HBO because it’s going away tomorrow. It’s a retelling of Peter Pan and I really liked it. It’s heartfelt and moving.
Trike wrote: "Star Wars scene 38 reimagined: https://youtu.be/to2SMng4u1k"With all the "improvements" Lucas made to the original trilogy, this is the one he missed.
I am loving "The Bureau" on amazon prime, 5 seasons (I'm on season 4) of the DSGE, the French Intelligence agency, so yes, it is in french with subtitles. Great characters, and beautifully shot
I watched The Dig on Netflix last night, which is based on the book The Dig, which in turn is based on a true event. I thought Ralph Fiennes was terrific, as always, and everyone else did an excellent job, but like a lot of adaptations it seemed to be missing… something. It’s so straightforward that I can’t tell if there was supposed to be anything metaphorical about the unearthing of the objects. I was never bored, but it doesn’t quite click.

I just finished watching "The Head" on HBO Max. It's a murder mystery set in Antarctica. It was excellent!
Trike wrote: "Star Wars scene 38 reimagined: https://youtu.be/to2SMng4u1k"I've seen this a few times. It's pretty awesome! I wouldn't be mad if they came out with yet another edition of A New Hope with a better lightsaber battle spliced in.
Ian (RebelGeek) wrote: "I just finished watching "The Head" on HBO Max. It's a murder mystery set in Antarctica. It was excellent!"Thanks for the heads-up. I’m fascinated by Antarctica, currently reading Madhouse at the End of the Earth: The Belgica's Journey into the Dark Antarctic Night.
Another excellent video from Spacedock:Why Can Civilians Own Armed Spaceships in Sci-Fi?

Tamahome wrote: "Did you like his audiodrama The Sojourn? It's on Audible. It seems like the villains are corny."I haven’t listened to it. I take it that it’s not as good as his videos examining other franchises’ spaceships.
Ian (RebelGeek) wrote: "I just finished watching "The Head" on HBO Max. It's a murder mystery set in Antarctica. It was excellent!"That was so good and not what you expected!
I'm watching (only 2 episodes left) "Better Than Us" on Netflix. It was produced and mostly located in Moscow, Russia.I'm enjoying it, it seems to be the type of story that Azimov would have written. (Yes, they actually reference the robotic laws as the Azimov laws or robotics.) But, similar to the iRobot stories, the story is about what happens when a single robot either doesn't have the laws or interprets them in an unexpected way.

Is anyone else watching What If? There's no dedicated thread. I'd start one but am not sure if anyone is interested. I kinda feel like I'm watching the red headed stepchild of the MCU.
I plan on watching What If? this weekend. I spent the last two weeks in South Korea and wanted to watch them with my kids when I get home today.
John (Taloni) wrote: "Is anyone else watching What If? There's no dedicated thread. I'd start one but am not sure if anyone is interested. Then the second episode aired. Wow! I really liked it! Much more like I thought it should be.
The third episode falls somewhere in between the first two.
I've enjoyed the "What If...?" episodes.
My only gripe would be that they are just remaking the movies with a slight twist.
I hope they get a bit more inventive and tread new ground outside the MCU movie storylines. Maybe even bring in a few characters that haven't made it into the movies.

I’m loving What If. I think the show is every bit as good as the movies. The writing is terrific and the animation is spectacular.
What If is a super classic comic book series. In the first issue Spiderman joins the Fantastic Four.

Loving What If...? but would agree, feels like they are sticking to MCU and really want them to get out of that. This is an opportunity to do anything, with any Marvel character.
Chris wrote: "Loving What If...? but would agree, feels like they are sticking to MCU and really want them to get out of that. Not much mileage in a 'What If' story where you're not familiar with the canonical events.
Enjoying it so far.
Just watched The Courier with Benedict Cumberbatch and Mrs. Maisel. Really good. No one does period pieces like the Brits.
I liked it, I thought it was one of the better ones. But I think I liked the first one better. A little less depressing and still a great story.
I finally watched the first episode of What If...? It was good but not great. I'll probably keep watching. It's nice that each episode is a one-off and doesn't require weekly follow-up.
Clearly the Zombie episode of What If should have ended with (silly statement follows)(view spoiler)
The Zombie episode was fun. At least the last few episodes have moved away from the movie storylines.
^ I never read the Marvel Zombies comics but they were done. Because I didn't read them I don't know if this is a takeoff on that. Seems fairly straightforward to do a Zombie storyline regardless. Pick your situation and Zombie apocalypse, presto bitey! The writers must have enjoyed doing this one.

Or maybe that was the DC one. Either way, superhero zombies are freaky.
I just watched the recent 5 episodes of Money Heist part 5 on Netflix, I wish I didn't have to wait until December 3 for the last 5 episodes of part 5. Feels like this heist is getting close to an end. (view spoiler) Don't read the episode summary on WikiPedia if you don't want that previous spoiler.
I watched the first two episodes of Y: The Last Man on Hulu this morning. I liked it. I remember not enjoying the first graphic novel so I didn’t continue, therefore I have no detailed recollection of it. This seemed expanded in scope from what little I recall.Getting this off the ground was probably why Vaughan took a sabbatical from Saga, so maybe that book will come back now.
Watched Kate on Netflix. Solid action flick if not terribly original. Possibly the best sword fight I’ve seen in a decade, though.I was struck by the notion that Mary Elizabeth Winstead could play Charlize Theron’s sister, whereas before I always thought she more closely resembled Linda Cardellini.
I loved her in Scott Pilgrim vs the World. That movie was a masterpiece. Here's one of her fight scenes from it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lifFR...
Watched Babylon 5: Crusade (the Babylon 5 spin-off) on the DVD set of the show I had bought.Next, I plan to watch the Babylon 5 TV movies on Amazon Prime Video that I bought to stream.
Then I plan to re-watch/watch Star Trek: Deep Space Nine from the beginning of the show.

It's worth it IMHO.
