I had a chance to read this early, a great read: http://amzn.to/1xZLdWE

Also, don't forget that The Banks of Certain Rivers is only $2 on Kindle right now: http://bit.ly/1xoEmr6

Charlene (charlenethestickler) I've just put this on hold at the library, but it is signed out in all branches at present. I'm also still waiting for the Week #1 book. Is there any way to publish these choices a few weeks earlier so those of us who don't want to pay $11. to download a kindle book can still get in on the reads? Many thanks.

Hi Charlene,

That's difficult for me as I just pick the book I'm reading that week -- but you can always go back and read past reads - the discussion threads continue.

Charlene,
You could always visit sites such as Netgalley or Edelweis download a copy for free. You would have to do this in advance and give feedback to the publisher. I understand your frustration. You can also adovocate for more money for libraries so we can carry more copies of the newer book. You could also try checking if you library loans ebooks and put yourself on the list for it there. The wait might be shorter. From someone who works at a library.

Charlene (charlenethestickler) Thanks, Catherine and Jencey. I'll read as I'm able and catch up with discussions, too. I'll check Netgalley in case book choices appear there. I don't know Edelweis.

I am a Friend of our local library, and I've written to our state governor and others about budget cuts, and so forth. I will remain an active proponent of literacy any way I can. Thanks for what you do....

Melissa (chicklitcentral) | 49 comments Just got it recently but am still in the middle of a few others and have a few more in my queue ahead of it.

Jennifer (featherlashes) Wow, keep a box of Kleenex close by! My reading experience was pretty emotional.
Here's my review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

Carly Svamvour (faganlady) | 4 comments It was for me too, Jennifer - even though I knew she was dying, I wasn't ready for the end.

Great read.

Carol (caroldoscher) | 3 comments I just purchased this ebook. It is only $1.99 for kindle on Amazon. Looking forward to reading this book.

Marilyn | 12 comments Not sure if this is a book I should read right now. I'm barely a year from diagnosis, less than 6 months from end of treatments, and last week's mammography showed 'abnormal' so I had to have a mammo-assisted biopsy. Luckily, benign. But perhaps I'm too stressed about this to even think about reading the book? Those who have read it - upper or downer for me? I think I should avoid it?

I think it might be a downer for you, Marilyn. Glad about the benign status!

Marilyn | 12 comments Catherine - thanks for your comment. I think I'll skip this title...

Arlene Morrell | 103 comments Difficult subject great writing ...the emphasis was mostly on the emotional side of this disease. I found it very interesting and yes very sad and heartwarming.

message 16: by Beth (new) - rated it 4 stars

Beth | 145 comments I'm a little more than halfway through and though I love it and it is really well written it is also heart-wrenching. I'm thinking that there are probably some people who should not read this book because it would be too upsetting for them.
