That's difficult for me as I just pick the book I'm reading that week -- but you can always go back and read past reads - the discussion threads continue.

You could always visit sites such as Netgalley or Edelweis download a copy for free. You would have to do this in advance and give feedback to the publisher. I understand your frustration. You can also adovocate for more money for libraries so we can carry more copies of the newer book. You could also try checking if you library loans ebooks and put yourself on the list for it there. The wait might be shorter. From someone who works at a library.

I am a Friend of our local library, and I've written to our state governor and others about budget cuts, and so forth. I will remain an active proponent of literacy any way I can. Thanks for what you do....
