Mercy goes to see Shane Gamble, the only one of the robbers from the heist that was captured. Did you figure out that his demeanor changed only after she mentioned the gender of the dead body suspected to be one of the other robbers?

Susan (cruelshoes) | 158 comments I did notice the change even though it was very slight Mercy caught it.

Robin (robinmy) | 2466 comments I noticed that his demeanor changed, but didn't know what Mercy had said to trigger it.

Christina T (crysteena73) | 109 comments Also noticed but wasn't sure what caused it as well.

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) It was only a subtle difference and I didn't really make note of the significance at the time.

I noticed it, but wasn't sure why or where it would lead.

I noticed it and that she had indicated it was a male. It changed everything for me as I knew in that moment a woman was going to play a major role in the identity of the robbers. Since the delivery person was the only one unidentified, I knew that person was female.

Robin (robinmy) | 2466 comments Good catch Jonetta!

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3501 comments Good catch Jonetta.

I noticed that Gamble changed when Mercy was talking to him. I didn't hear that it was the gender that caused the change. I think I would have caught it had I read the book instead of listen though.

I did think that a woman was involved. I figured that the spelling of Jerry was actually Jeri. I also suspected that Jeri was his girlfriend and that was the reason Gamble protected the driver.

Thanks, Robin and Sharon. I listened to the book but rewound it when his demeanor changed. I knew this meeting would be important so I was listening closely. When she said “he,” even I had a reaction and rewound to verify what I’d heard. Couldn’t believe Mercy had let that slip.

Missed that Jerry could be female!!! Nice deduction.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3501 comments I need to learn to rewind when listening. I end up doing a relisten to the whole story after I get to end and miss so much.

I do that when I realize I haven’t a clue s to what’s going on or hear something that bears repeating. I also tend to only listen when I can concentrate on the story.

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1205 comments I was watching his attempt to manipulate Mercy in their first conversation; then, didn't she hint about a female in their second meeting? Foggy memory already, :-(
