I actually just finished this book prior to stumbling across this group. This is Where I Leave You was a book that I actually had no expectations about. Saw the trailer for the movie and then stumbled across the book at Target and decided to read it. It was surprisingly good! I laughed, cried, and laughed some more. It was a lighter read than Gone Girl which was a book that had me frustrated and angry most of the way through it. Definitely enjoyed this book and the movie as well :) I am a firm believer in reading the book prior to the movie. How I envision various parts of every book I read are often not how directors portray them in films!

I actually saw the movie sometime last year because I'm a HUGE Tina Fey fan. When I saw this week's topic was a book turned into a movie I decided I definitely had to read This is Where I Leave You because I enjoyed the movie so much. So I am also reading this book. I like it, I haven't finished it yet though...
