Black Leopard, Red Wolf (The Dark Star Trilogy #1) by Marlon James

The Orange County, CA S&L group met via Zoom last Sunday, July 26th to discuss Black Leopard, Red Wolf. It turns out not many of us had made it all the way through the book.

This is understandable. I found it to be a very challenging book. See my review from July 20th, above.

So we spent over an hour just socializing. We welcomed a new participant, Craig Carignan, along with the usual suspects, Dave Packard, Andrew Cator, Stephen Richter and Christina and myself.

We are all looking forward to some lighter fare in August.

Since we're using Zoom during the pandemic anyone, anywhere is invited and welcome.

Dave should post a Zoom link for the next meeting in the Orange County, CA Local Groups discussion sometime before the next meeting at 3pm US/Pacific on August 30, 2020.

AndrewP (andrewca) | 2667 comments Thanks for posting the Zoom screenshot Gary. Lucky for me I can use C19 as an excuse for not getting a haircut for 6 months :)
(I use 'AndrewP' here because there was already an 'Andrew' posting when I started S&L)

Gary Fisher | 40 comments I zoned out on it when we finished up on Sunday. Better late than never...

Sheila Jean | 330 comments I finished this morning. I did the audio version because it was available to check out from the library when I finished my previous listen. I'm still not sure I really know what happened. It's very angry? Not sure that's quite what I mean, but I do know feel exhausted.

I didn't like this book, but I also didn't avoid this book. I don't think I'll read the related works, but we'll see.

I could not have said this better. It's exactly how I feel about this book.
