It’s time for another Monthly Reading Wrap Up! Have you signed up for the library's summer reading challenge yet? If you have, how are you doing so far? And if you haven’t go ahead and check out bit.ly/2020GastonAdultSummerReading for more information. Also, don’t forget the library is now open for Curbside Service. Call your local branch and make an appointment today!

This month I read…

A Whole New World by Liz Braswell- I listened to this one on audiobook. I enjoyed it for the most part. It is very close to the Disney movie version at first, but it veers once the twist comes of course. If you enjoy Disney, you’ll probably like it a lot. I will probably listen to a few more from the series when I get the chance.

Me Before You by Jojo Moyes- I am late to game for this book, but better late than never! I did enjoy it. I thought it tackled the main issue in the book very nicely as well. The author did a good job of showing both sides of a debate and letting you decide how you feel about the issue yourself, which I appreciate.

The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes by Suzanne Collins- I was a big Hunger Games fan back in the day and was excited to dive into this. I enjoyed it though it was a little slow at parts. I did finish the book frustrated though. If you read The Hunger Games, you know where the main character from this story ends up. However, I did not expect to see him throw away so many opportunities to take a different path in this story which was why I was so frustrated at the end.

Twilight by Stephenie Meyer- Ok, I was that person when I was in college. I admit to being a diehard Twihard. When the announcement that Midnight Sun would be released in August I decided to listen to the series again on audiobook. It still has a special place in my heart, so it was fun to revisit. I also completely forgot about the blood typing in Biology scene and got a good chuckle out of it for some reason. haha.

What did you read this month? Be sure to share down below!

Happy Reading!

Erin Penn The Passion of Miss Cuthbert: A Stella Hart Romantic Mystery by Lucy Blue - The second in the light-hearted mystery series set in the
'20s. Very fun.

Robbie | 3 comments I read The Ballad of songbird and snakes too. It was interested, I did think it was going to start off at the actual war with the capitol and districts, from the very very beginning. But def gave me a new perspective on the President! :-)
